How are we going to split the minutes for Jose/ Ryan/ Hawkins/ Dyson/ Naji with a full roster?

We know Jose/ Dyson will get minutes for purposes.

Hawkins/ Ryan situational hot hand? Hawkins taking a back seat with a healthy roster to shrink minutes until he’s more efficient?

What to do with Naji? What to do with Naji if he’s hitting his 3’s?

Is Liddell dead?

Clearly Zeller/ Kira/ Liddell are the first 3 out of rotation but who is #4?

CJ 32
BI 34
Herb 27
Zion 32
Jval 24
Trey 27
Jose 20
Nance 16
Dyson 20
Hawkins 8 (could also be Ryan)

Naji should be out of a healthy Pels rotation.

Any projections must have at least 10 dudes, we won't go with a 9 man rotation nightly.

Wont matter because Bi and Zion wont play many games,so those bench guys will get theirs.

Well there’s the Starting 5, then Trey, Nance, and Jose as key bench pieces who all need 15+ minutes a night

Matchups will dictate who plays next out of Dyson, Hawkins, Naji, and Ryan, with Dyson being at the top of that tier imo

Kira, Zeller, Liddell break glass in case of emergency types

I don’t see how you keep Ryan on the bench if he’s shooting 40+% from 3. The Pels have literally needed a shooter like him for the past 3 seasons.

Simple.

Trade Ingram for a couple guys you wont play and a shitload of future draft picks, start Trey. That frees up a bunch of minutes.

One scenario
Knicks: Ingram, Bertans
Thunder: Randle
Pels: Fournier, Poku, picks from both

OKC gets rid of two guys they don’t really need and get an all star level player while starting to move some of their picks they can’t possibly use all of, Knicks dump Randle and Fournier like they’ve been trying to do, Pels free up minutes and get 7 million below the tax while picking up another potential bench shooter in Fournier and a developmental big man in Poku.

If all are healthy, I’m sure that’s a problem that Willie will gladly deal with. Game flow and matchups will dictate who’s on the floor. I’m
not as concerned with individual minutes.

Thank you much appreciated

The reasoning is we have a ready made replacement in house for BI and we have a multitude of bench players that have earned minutes, so it’s more about freeing up cap space for Trey’s big extension and adding 6-8 draft picks for a big move down the road.

We don’t need an all star level player in return because then we’re just right back in the same boat we’re in now

Only New York would do this. I actually thought about a BI trade because him being out now is really getting close to the last straw. The 2 main targets I would want are Chet or Mikal. Chet we would need to add picks and maybe DD as well as take Bertans for salary. This would also mean trading JV though for a bench piece to make a CJ Herb Trey Zion Chet starting 5. Mikal would probably be straight up or we get a little extra, same lineup as normal just switch BI for Mikal. Dark horse would be Ja if things in Memphis blow up in their faces and we could send them BI and all the picks we possibly can to make a Ja CJ Trey Zion JV lineup

BI + whatever needed for Nic and Mik. Life comes full circle on this board

Edit: Bonus that Mik is BFF's with Trey (Our real true asset)

I’ve been thinking about BI trades for awhile now, but I wouldn’t send him west.

The teams I’m looking at are teams with all their picks and players we can bring off the bench so that we can replenish our stock of draft picks for a future huge move, and insert Trey into the starting lineup.

That’s two qualifiers I personally have for a BI trade.

Teams want to win trades at the press conference. I don’t see how the team trades BI for mostly depth and future assets.

You would need Trey and all of the shooters to make it look like we don’t need BI for that to happen.

Top 8 are set if healthy. Hahahahhahah.

Dyson/Naji/Hawk will cut up a fistful of minutes based on matchups or foul trouble.

I honestly think some folks have selective amnesia when it comes to BI. They must be pissed and over-
reacting, because of his current absence. When his knee problem resolves ( and it will) we’ll be glad to have him in the lineup.

We already won the PC when we drafted Trey Murphy and he’s turned into the type of player he has.

Could we do better than trading him for depth and picks? Sure, but then we’re still right where we currently are trying to figure out how to pay Trey 30 million a year next year or lose him because we replaced BI with another starter.

It’s just frustrating bc he always takes much longer than expected to come back. And the scan was clean but he’s already missed three games.
