Can Zion really not play for like 12 minutes or something?

So far this year:
- Curry played in every Warriors game
- LeBron played in every Lakers game
- Luka played in every Mavs game
- Jokic played in every Nuggets game
- Tatum played in every Celtics game
- Giannis played in every Bucks game
I get it's is a back-to-back, but CJ is like 32 years old and played more minutes than Zion last night, and is starting tonight. I understand he's your "star" and he has an injury history. But at this point he's missed more games than Lebron has his entire career and he's only 23 years old. This isn't some veteran, multi-year all-star that we can just let sit random days 4 games into the season. He's essentially still a rookie (based on number of games he's actually played), he shouldn't get that benefit of the doubt.
Is it so much to ask he play a quarter or something? Jesus Christ

He's fat. His dick warts possibly flared up last night.

I always thought sure sit them out but why can they not be ready in case needed at the end of the game or something. Does it free up a roster spot for another body?

Fat arse needs to play how the heck he's going to get in game shape if has to rest every other day....23 years old just insane

He’s a complete disappointment. It’s unbelievable how out of shape he is. Imagine someone handing you $50M a year and all you have to do is stay in shape. And you can’t even do that cause you’re too fricking lazy and have zero will power.

I'm not that big on load management in general, but Zion still looks out of shape, so I have no problem with them being cautious with him here.
If BI were feeling like himself and Zion played regularly, nobody would have a problem with a rest game like this. It's all the other stuff that's wrong, not the decision to rest Zion because he's out of shape and it's a back to back and the 3rd game in 4 nights.
You have to play the hand you are dealt, and the current hand includes getting winded easily and knee pain with no structural issues.

He’s not close to being in basketball shape and they literally just stepped off the plane after playing last night. It’s best to rest him and not risk injury. Zion is noticeably 15 lbs overweight minimum. I would bet he’s playing around 290 right now when he really needs to be in the 265-270 range. If they can get him to around 280 by Thanksgiving I’d call that a big win.

I bet Shaq could give us 12 minutes tonight

and sitting him has shown to have zero positive impact to his injury-proneness.
So what’s the fricking point?

Dude stop this shite, no team is playing a star player 12 minutes, either they play a full workload or not at all.
For the other poster saying “why not dress him for end of game” that never happen, you don’t stretch and warmup and then 2 hours later try to go into a game and play balls out, you’re just asking to pull something.

I feel terrible for the fans tonight to see this G league outfit.

Beyond a disgrace.
Just add it to the list of good reasons why people stop being season ticket holders and going to NBA games.

How can our older guys plsy back to backs and our 23 year old star needs a rest
Posted on 11/2/23 at 7:02 pm to JonathanSidwell
He could at least dress out in the off chance the game is close in the fourth quarter.

Rest him I will play him till he has no knees left .
That fat frick needs to be selling cotton candy walking up and down the SKC stairs.
Why does no one in this organization have the balls to say what we all know what they say in the national media.
I want the injury to read fat/lazy instead of rest.
I want him to do well because he's a pel but I really hate his entitled fat lazy arse

That’s not a win. That’s sad and pathetic. He’s a professional athlete. Sure as hell doesn’t act like one.

We played an awful team. But this was a great game for our team. We won and some guys had some great performances. Just the kind of game I like to watch..

Zion is paid tens of millions of dollars a year to play basketball. We heard how much he’s investing in his body all offseason and you were in the same boat again. This isn’t 1985 where players fluctuate their fitness wildly. If you’re making 50m-year off of your body it is in no way unreasonable to be in amazing shape to start the year.
