Willie Green seems to be a good coach

It’s not his fault he can’t field a complete team all season. If the Pels are completely healthy, they could make a run in the West and go toe to toe with Denver.

I question rotations sometimes honestly. I do think it’s hard to judge his tenure purely because of the injuries to the stars.

He's becoming a better coach, rotations are better IMHO. Why? First few years, he'd push the top 8 players instead of going deep into the bench

He really has not been very good. He was flat out terrible at times last year.

This year however he seems to be acknowledging his flaws and working on them

He was good his first year; mediocre his second; pretty solid with all the injuries this year

Define “good”

If he were to be fired tomorrow, would his next job be as a HC? Doubtful

Still have no idea why we didn’t finish with Jonas tonight

Yeah I thought so too. But Willie felt Jonas might have issues on defense. I disagree but Nance played well.

Last year was very rough for him. He has been extremely stubborn in the past and way overrelied on mediocre at best vets. He’s not an X and Os guy so relies on others for that.

He does seem to be more flexible and adapting this year.

But I do wonder…

If Naji was healthy, would Hawk or Ryan even be playing?

Yeh what do we do when Naji comes back?

Let him give high fives during timeouts

He'd absolutely have another HC job.

I promise you only Pelicans fans think Willie Green is a bad coach.

Playoffs year one without his best player. 42 wins year two with his two best players barely out there. There's a group out there that have lost all sense of reality regarding the coach.

Based off what? He has nothing to hang his hat on thus far

The reality is he’s a sub .500 coach right now. The whole league deals with injuries. He needs to prove something this season

He NEVER finishes with Jonas. Even when he’s effective like tonight. I just think he values Larry’s defense much more in a close game than JV’s offense. I get it to a degree. But I hate to see our best foul shooter (with Trey and BI out) on the bench late in tight games.

Name all the teams whose best player played a total of 29 games the past 2 seasons that also have a winning record in that time.

No team last season had their best 2 players miss as much time as ours, and our 3rd best player played injured virtually all season. The whole league did not deal with injuries like this, and the Pels still finished with a winning record.

It’s amazing to me that anyone who considers himself a Pelicans fan doesn’t realize the boat load of injuries this team has had the last two years. Yeah, everyone has injuries, but between how many and who was injured, no team was hit harder last year than the Pelicans. It’s not debatable.

Based off people with common sense not being irrational morons like half this fanbase.

Steve Kerr managed to win 15 games without Steph and Klay. He didn't forget how to coach. Your two best players have to actually play basketball.

I wouldn’t say “terrible” last year. That seems a little emotional and an overstatement.
I tend to look at the big picture. He’s definitely pushing the right buttons so far this season. Hope it
continues.
