I was recently recommended this album by a friend. The The has never been on my radar...I'm not sure why. But WOW! This album is so much fun. It feels timeless to me and has such a great funky / soulful sound. I love the style of the vocals. IMO this album should get more recognition as one of the best of the 90s.

Give it a listen if you haven't, or listen again if you have.

I could never pull the trigger on a The The album with Columbia House.

They're one of those bands that was probably crushed into the Earth by search engines. Can you imagine looking for "The The" in YouTube, Spotify, Amazon, etc.?

1993, I hope our Plantation Trash neighbors enjoyed 'Dogs of Lust' really really loud..otherwise..they probably hated us.

The The was an interesting 80s/90s band that had some really cool stuff but was just a bit too avante garde to find mainstream popularity. Them and Mercury Rev fell into that segment for me, and I liked both.

Time Again for the Golden Sunset is such a badass song off their first record.

I’ve heard a bit of their stuff over the years. I think they have one of the coolest band names ever. Brilliant.

We may know each other. Spent many nights at Xanthus around that time.

The most drunk and sick I ever got was at the Bengal kamikaze night. Made it down to the Chimes before it came out. The Chimes was packed. It looked like I parted the Red Sea running to the door holding my mouth. Everyone scrambled from the impending, projectile hurl.

That was our HS hangout in the late 80s... it always got raided and everyone would go over the back wall.

This band is so underrated, this band is the soundscape of my life back in the 80's and 90's. So good. Johnny Marr had a lot to do with the sound of Dusk and the preceding EP.

Eric Schermerhorn does a nice job here...

The The, Helpline Operator - Live

My favorite version...

The The, Violence of Truth - EP Version

And don't forget, Matt Johnson did an album of Hank Williams originals, called Hanky Panky. That album never gets old to me.

I Saw the Light, The The...

Matt was also a prophet...

Armageddon Days...

I'm out...
