A group of us will be traveling to Kenner,LA early next year for a cheer competition at the Ponchetrain Center. I know nothing about the area, can any of you give a recommendation on where to stay, and where to avoid. Thanks in advance.

If you get pulled over for speeding, don't tell the cop you play for the Saints

Not much to do in Kenner, except the Treasure Chest Casino if you're into that (it's a shithole as well). Plan on doing some things in New Orleans which is 5-10 mins away.

Avoid driving 70 in a 35 as a beginning.

I would stay in Metairie which gives you quick access to Kenner and New Orleans.

There’s not much to do in Kenner besides coconut beach, rivertown, and the treasure chest.

Kenner is mostly safe and the police force there enjoys their job

I would stay at a Metairie hotel probably by the galleria or the lake. Don’t stay in Kenner, while Kenner is very safe there is nothing to do. Metairie at least has some entertainment. If you aren’t dumb, New Orleans is fine just don’t walk alone or walk to your car at night lol

Gendusa's in Rivertown if you want some good Italian food and want to watch The Godfather or Goodfellas while you eat.

There is a Hilton Garden Inn basically connected to the Ponchatrain Center. 2 or 3 miles away back near the Interstate is a Double Tree by Hilton.
Both would be fine if you are just planning to do the cheer stuff and nothing else.

If you want to be a little closer to Nola, there are some good hotels along Causeway Blvd, near the lake and near I-10.
