This is what 152K will get you in Knoxville, and I can promise you 175K will not get you much better:
so is that the only area in Knoxville area where you can buy something under $300k?

what about 30-45 minutes outside of Knoxville?

When did you buy the house?

If you bought a $1.3 million dollar house when rates were 3% that is roughly $5400 per month. You are telling us you wouldn't be able to afford that grossing $25K per month not counting the wife?

Buying an apartment on the Northshore is not what I would call a good investment i

Good luck.

Maryville has always been just as expensive. Same thing for the surrounding mountainous areas. You can find a trailer in a hollow, sure. It's not going to look any better though and you might have to scrape some meth residue off the walls.

5% mortgage is roughly 6k.

One thing they don’t tell you about buying a house is that upkeep is insane. I blink and a thousand is gone. Our hvac is another 40k fence is 6k and just random shite costs so much

Also before people think 1.3 buys a new polished house, our house is built in 1980.

That house today is about $250k

No it's not. Based on the data we have its about 380k. You want to argue that the house you bought in the Charlotte metro area has failed to match inflation? Because that would be crazy stupid.

two young people doing what we did would also be making a lot more today too

Two people in their 20's are clearing 300k+ doing what yall did? Cause that's how much yall were making in 2023 dollars.

You’re a moron. You really think home values have matched inflation?

I wish it was something fancy but it’s just split ac.

As I said for me alone it would be impossible. My wife is a power earner so she makes my life much easier

You’re right. Just looked it up online. Haven’t checked in a few years.

And I know young people in my industry now that make well more than twice what I did then. New hires with no experience make what I was making then after 6 good years.

Grandpa, those young people spent much more money to learn those skills and are sinking in debt

I can't fathom how someone can be so dumb if he is being honest with what he is saying.

you'd know better than i would but i'd guess LC area has a decent amount of new home inventory over the last decade or so with all the plant work.

I have 3 units I will replace next year. Not small units either. 2 are 3 tons and 1 is 4 tons but all in all 3 won't cost me that.

Not sure WTF sort of unit you got

Our house was using window units because older houses in MA were not meant for central or split systems.
