People said the same things about Trump. And look how he turned out, the greatest President in our lifetime. I look forward to his 8 years and draining the swamp of Radical Leftist policy.

I have nothing against Landry, but “radical leftists” don’t seem to be Louisiana’s biggest problem at the moment.

Every state around us grew in population and economically

Louisiana shrank

Cantrell is single handedly killing the biggest money maker in the state with the crime and homeless problem. Tourist are staying away and Edwards sat by and did nothing all while she gleefully to pride in not work with her own party governor in a deep red state.

Landry may not be the best choice but we need common sense to get things back on track.

He should be better than John Bel Edwards, and I hope he'll surprise me and actually get into the nitty gritty of Louisiana government issues.

The difference is that Trump was already rich and didn't have any motivation to run a bunch of crooked money scams. Not so much for Jeff. And of course, the lawyer industrial complex we all live in will only get worse under Landry.

And I say that, having voted for him.

He'll be better than Edwards, sure. That doesn't really require that much. Will he reform the state so much that your kids will be enticed to move back? Probably not.

I’m interested to see if he makes eight years. The 45 cent tax falls off in two years and it likely won’t be renewed. That means less money for infrastructure, police and schools, etc. Does he go the Jindal route and play budget games for two years to get re-elected at the expense of his second term, does he just let things get worse, does he raise taxes to fill the gap? It will be interesting.

What the hell are you talking about?! We live in a deep red state that has been a Republican supermajority for years and is run by a business union.

Oh never mind. You’re a cultist that likes being pandered to. Carry-on.

Maybe he’ll come up for air after blowing the plantiffs bar and do something fiscally conservative.

All Landry will do is pursue anti-woke policy and beat his chest like he’s making a difference. Meanwhile, we will remain dead last in every measurable metric and the brain drain will continue. I don’t see how he advances this state.

You clearly didn't follow Landry's tenure as AG, or you did, and you don't realize the 5D Backgammon you just played

Definitely not the majority in this city, but some of us actually needed - and still need - a Governor who would throw caution to the winds and concern over his own political image and longevity by addressing this embarrassing, insulting situation of anywhere from 30,000 to over 70,000 illegitimate names on our voter rolls.

(Real "democracy" at work for anyone with 1917 Bolshevik leanings.)

Who would lead a concerted effort by the new Attorney General and new Secretary of State to come down here with the protection of a large contingent of State Police and lots of yellow crime scene tape, if required, to let these dregs who have this city in a stranglehold - which includes the Registrar Sandra Wilson - understand in plain language that these voter rolls will be purged of the illegitimate, frivolous names - with or without their consent and participation.

Anyone believe that Landry is that person? Don't bet your homestead on it. It's not even to be detected in his voice timbre.

Seem to recall that he surely was quiet, silent about it while he was Attorney General.

Just like his deafening silence on our forced monument crisis. Not being heard or seen publicly until it was all over. One instance where "silence was violence."

Not surprised Nungesser won outright - look at his opponents. But he was the other one during our monument induced crisis. Two Republican Meerkat Coelenterates.

But maybe in this short span of time he's grown some and we're going to see the new, intrepid, fearless Landry.

Anyone willing to offer odds on it?

The idea of “radical leftist policy”in Louisiana is fricking laughable.

And by the way, Trump didn’t drain shite.
