The most important goal would be to destroy Hamas’s ability to function. That includes going after them in Gaza, but also inflicting damage on the enablers.

Are beheaded babies where you draw your line in the sand? Deliberately murdering over 1,000 civilians wasn’t enough? Taking hundreds of hostages? Promising to execute them live on social media? That isn’t enough?
I am beginning to think the beheaded babies story didn’t come about to stoke outrage against Hamas; but to downplay what happened so people will say “yeah, but they didn’t actually behead 40 babies, so it isn’t that bad”.
