Republicans can’t decide on a Speaker

It’s normal for the group in power to hold a party conference, cast votes on who each member wants to be Speaker and then come together and support whoever wins the majority of votes.
The new normal is holdouts who embarrass the party by making demands or they withhold their vote.
If the Republican’s in Congress can’t even unite and govern themselves why should we expect them to govern the whole country…….at least as far as national politics is concerned.

It needs to be hard. Tired of the usual old ways that led to nothing getting done

They should elect a democrat. That will stick it to the libs.

He’s the official nominee but with such a slim majority holdouts have too much power

So in this new way they can’t even put people in place to do nothing??

Gaetz supports Scalise who is nothing but a less effective McCarthy.
Comical.
Comical.

Gotcha. Someone texted me that he was the new speaker.

Sounds like a DT disciple. Lot's of awesome rhetoric but soft AF when it comes down to it.

And that's the problem. I'm sorry, in a country of over 330M people a handful of childish people with their own personal agendas should not hold the people's work of legislating and governing hostage. Come to a consensus, yes compromise and move forward. This isn't the 1st grade, and you can't whine and obstruct IOT get your way. This gridlock accomplishes nothing and it embarrassing to our country and government as a whole.

I have nothing against Scalise, but I've never been impressed with his oratory skills. I think Jim Jordan is a much more persuasive speaker for conservatism.

No. This way they actually talk about it and work out deals instead of rolling with the next bought person

The GOP is handing the House back to the Dems. Congratulations losers! They have proven that the only competent party is the Dems.

I love gridlock. We have enough laws.

There’s no benefit to passing legislation, most of the money now is small donations from internet extremists who don’t care about legislation, they just support extreme views.

Of all the things Republicans have done, replacing McCarthy with a new Speaker is like 1,427,805 on the list.
