Underhill and NOF are bit shady (Penning Situation)

This whole thing is rubbing me the wrong way.
Here is the series of events:
- Underhill and Co. talks up Penning for two years through his injury
- Supports penning when he played like crap in preseason and week 1
- Says he just needs more reps and he'll improve in the passing game (no mention of the run game)
- He gets more reps and does indeed improve on pass protection
- Then, yesterday, almost seemingly out of the blue, Underhill releases this random hit piece, saying Penning has been terrible in run protection and should be benched. Hmm, that's kind of weird. Hadn't he been improving in pass protection with more reps? What's to say he can't do it for run game too? Whatever, didn't think much of it.
- Welp, what do you know? Today, NOF announced that Penning is likely to be benched, per source, for Hurst in a video report tweet that is now DELETED: LINK. Why did they delete the tweet? Edit: Looks like they reposted the tweet with completely different stats and language: LINK
Sorry, but this just rubs me the wrong way. Congrats Underhill on getting tipped off that this was coming. Glad you have a source. Now, he needs to be asking tough questions based on prior statements our decision makers made weeks ago, but I doubt he will. Nothing like talking up a young player, then writing some hit piece on him just to get ahead of the news. What a freak.

In other words, Underhill isn't allowed to change his mind about a certain player after several weeks of regular season play? Since he supported him earlier, then he is forced to always support him? That is silly message board poster logic.

Bench starters when it finally looks like the O-Line is trending in the right direction? Makes sense.
Also, Hurst has been just as shite as Penning in the first couple of games.

Underhill was even talking a day before this about how bad the Saints needed to get Peat back on the field at guard replacing Hurst. He didn't mention then that it was because source had told him that Hurst was going to be moved to tackle. The whole World is a whore and it appears Nick will tell the story he is told to tell by the Saints.

He praised Penning in an article one week ago that he actually seemed to be spot of strength in this OL. Now he's hanging him out to dry (not even a week later) just so he could get ahead of this news. It's bad journalism

I agree with you here but I do wonder if Penning does get benched if it has something to do with more than his play on the field and Underhill was trying to feed the narrative it was his play. Wouldn’t be surprised if this may be an internal issue and Penning wasn’t taking to coaching and Saints playing it off like its performance based.

I hope they're not benching Penning.

Underhill making a living off of getting insider info and building a paid platform for their “opinion” and shite. All after he left nola for New England and his wife ran her mouth about the southern people of this state being racists.

It would be funny if they bench Penning after 5 starts after giving Peat and Ruiz a leash of years of shite play

Are you suggesting Underhill wrote and released the article only after learning Penning will be benched?

I really don't like changing things up just as the line is starting to improve, and I have a hard time believing Hurst would be better at LT than Penning.

I don’t like Underhill but I have way more of a problem with them benching Penning this quickly. That’s going to be absolutely detrimental to his development

Underhill has long been a Peat and Ruiz simp.

Underhill sucking MT13 off the last 2 yrs after criticizing MT play. Then MT calling him out on it publicly kinda turn me off on him. Underhill does a decent job, but he was speaking the truth got called and now all we hear is how MT is Randy Moss.
Penning getting benched after 5 games for Peat n Hurst makes no sense especially after last week.

Makes perfect sense when you consider that the Saints have one of the worst coaching staffs in the league.

Underhill is kind of a bitch.
Hurst was solid at tackle last year.
If penning does get benched, it will be surprising. The Saints usually go years until they admit their mistakes.
Ruiz was another bad pick. Why would you draft a center to play rg?
That never made sense. He is small for rg. He hasn't been playing well again this yr

Yep, and they decided to give him a nice fat extension……just like they did Peat

Well that definitely explains why he was acting like such a bitch about Gruden coming in to help the offense this summer. It was nauseating
