Our 2nd amendment right is the biggest reason this doesn't happen in the US.

The left can say and do whatever they wish, but the American people will never give up our guns. Those poor citizens in Israel were helpless to defend themselves. I don't care who's right or wrong in this instance. Innocent civilians should have the right to defend themselves.
Yes, we have the occasional nut job, and we need to address that issue, but without our right to bear arms, China might have invaded the US. Heck, maybe Russia too. Those countries know that even if they were to withstand our military, they'd never win against an entire populace armed to the teeth.
So you fricktard lefties can thank us gun-toting-righties and quit complaining about the very thing that has kept you safe.

Wait - the fact that you own a gun is the reason Texas doesn't get barraged by missiles from Mexico?
Also - I seem to recall just a few years ago China unleashing a government created biological weapon on the United States. How did you and your gun protect us then??
How will your gun protect us from the next biological attack - or cyber attack - or ballistic nuclear weapon?
I agree, it is hard for a ground army to invade - just like Russia is having a hard time invading Ukraine, but modern warfare is knowing computers, satellite guidance systems, biological defense.

You are delusional. If China or Russia ever defeated our military (they can’t) it would be child’s play to subdue the population. They would order all guns turned in under penalty of death. That would get most of them. Then they would go door to door searching.
They would torture anyone who voted Republican. First they would start with one of your children. They would torture that child to death unless you turned over your guns. If you had no guns the child would be killed and then they would assume you didn’t have any. That would get almost all of the remaining guns.
Then they would institute reprisals. Whenever an act of rebellion took place they would execute a hundred people at random. In six months the land would be at peace. That’s the reality internet tough guys would face.

Are you really that dense. I didn't say the guns would protect us from biological or nuclear weapons. I said they would protect us from terrorists coming to our homes and murdering us while we huddle in a closet.
People like you, who are too dumb to comprehend what they are reading, should not be allowed to procreate.

Israel is one of the most armed places on earth.
Thousands would die here too if terrorists in paragliders descended on residential areas in large numbers at 7am on a Saturday.

Russia would have easily crushed Ukraine if the US had not been there to supply weapons. If our military was defeated your peashooters would not hold back a modern army.

No it’s primarily because we are isolated by oceans.

So I can be confidant that Hamas won’t launch an attack on the Gulf Coast? Whew!

Depending on how many of them there were. A lot of those motherfrickers would die, though. It doesn’t appear the Israeli citizens put up much of a fight, and that’s not how it would go here.

The Atlantic and the Pacific are 2 of the biggest reasons why this doesn't happen or why a foreign army hasn't invaded. Poor militaries would have to have money to mobilize across the bodies of water. Much cheaper to steal a toyota pick up and put some camel jockies in the back then drive to the place you wanna blow up.

I fully support the 2nd amendment but if you are suggesting we could not see a breakout of terrorist attacks in the US that kills thousands than maybe you never heard of 911.
TBH Im surprised we havent seen a another major attack involving a just a number of guys with guns mowing down folks in target rich environments. Imagine the Las Vegas mass shooting in every major city at the same time.

For a minute, I thought you were talking about the Democrat Party gaining complete control of our government.
My bad.
My bad.

You might want to go read the entire history of insurgent warfare.

More than 1,000 Hamas terrorists were killed in Israel. Tons of terrorists were killed by civilians and reservists in those communities. At some point though numbers matter.

If 50 armed militants parachuted into your neighborhood or rolled onto your street in Toyota pickups unexpectedly at 6:30 am on a weekend morning, what is it exactly that you think would happen? Dozens of people would be dead before anyone else even knew what was happening.
If you’re trying to make some point that Americans are more armed and prepared than Israelis in these settlements, you’re incredibly wrong.

This... this isn't why China hasn't invaded the US.
1. China doesn't want to start a conflict with the country with the most powerful military in the world.
2. America's geography is fantastic for defending against an invasion. There are two oceans on either side which means any invasion would need to get across them to invade the US. The US navy is easily the most powerful navy in the world.
This then leaves you with a land invasion. Which would be even more difficult and limit the capability of any invading force.
3. Land invasion across a desert would be difficult. And crossing across Canada to get to any large population centres would mean having to cross rivers and lakes.
It has very little to do with guns owned by individuals, more to do with the American military strength + America's geography.
Iraq had high gun ownership and America was still able to occupy Iraq. The occupation of Iraq didn't fail because of guns but because the American public lost the will for the occupation.
People will still be able to carry out terror attacks in the US and at concerts.

I think the primary reason this doesn't happen to us is because we're not in Israel surrounded by people who want to kill us.

I thought this too until a couple of days ago. They actually have some pretty strict licensing regimes that keep a good part of the populous from buying firearms. And if you fail to renew your license/application they come pick your firearm up. I was very surprised to learn that. I thought they handed you an Uzi at the airport as you got off the plane. I can't imagine living in one of those settlements outside of TelAviv without having multiple firearms in my house.
