Glad for the residents, but I sure was hoping for a swell of crabs and specs in the lake.

Probably both.

The Army Corps of Engineers was wrong again. Shocker.

Sensationalism and hysterics are yet again proven unfounded. Many people speaking in definites yet again have egg on their face. Who could have seen it coming?

I worked incident command for this and two weeks in they quietly ended it. Yes, there was real concern about the damage this would cause and even heard stories of some Plaquemines Parish residents having appliance damage.
We were told that we would possibly have work Incident Command until January but as time went on it was clear that this was going to be a big nothing burger

I mean who isn't glad about this ... NOLA wasn't exactly primed to handle an actual emergency issue of this magnitude

Panic: ON (OFF)
The fat dopes with cases upon cases of bottled water at the Walmart a few weeks ago was a sight to behold. Never underestimate the fear and stupidity of the average citizen.

The salt water is probably better than the fresh water full of fertilizers, mud and chemical plant residue.

I'm guessing Jim Cantore had to cancel his flight.
