Yeah. How is she going to promote a "conservative agenda" by letting a DEM win her district?

She's sub-3 digit IQ and even she understood that she couldn't be part of Gaetz's dog and pony show anymore

Budget hawks have been saying that spending and debt are out of control since I was born. Nothing dire ever really happens because It’s just a political weapon in reality. Every nation Carrie’s debt. Conservatives don’t like it, but it’s not anything near disastrous. Government is not, contrary to some opinions, designed or intended to run like a business. The idea is inherently contradictory. Citizens in general dgas about this stuff, if we’re being honest.

Go look at the projections of our interest payments over the next 20-30 years and compare to reasonable GDP growth

At the rate our debt and interest payments are growing, we’ll all be suffering the consequences, shut down or not.

Do you think Gaetz truly gives 2 fricks about this? Republicans and even Democrats have been railing about this for 40 years. Neither side has been truly serious about this then or now, Gaetz included.

Are you willing to let our military members go without a paycheck? That's what happens when the government shuts down. How about actually start doing their fricking job, instead of trying to grandstand every minute of the day. Gaetz probably hasn't done one thing since he took office that actually resembled his job. He spends most of his day dreaming up the next zinger he can get more clicks from.

Grandmas eat dog food for dinner just like they did in the 90s. Probably Alpo or Ol’ Roy because they can’t splurge and get Blue Buffalo with inflation being what it is.
This would not happen in other countries that value family. The elderly are taken care of by their family.

Over 9 percent inflation is pretty fricking dire

Not sure what argument is being made here. Other countries have nothing to do with shutdown. What about the elderly that lost their family in "other countries"?

The shutdown puts temporary pain on many govt, medical and military personnel that are considered essential. The essential employees still go to work with no pay (temporary) while the non essential get the same treatment, only they get to sit at home and do nothing, and still get reimbursed as the essential. Not a good reflection of any "benefit" to shutdown. I'm all for govt limitations, but shutdowns are just for show as said above. The actual impacts are that planning operations and training for something such as DOI forest management get canceled. Then, wildfires, because lack of management and training. Enjoy your win, I guess.

Do you ever get tired of arguing the ridiculous point that “if we don’t compromise at every turn and give the democrats everything they want we won’t stand a chance at beating them.”

Every thread you’re in you constantly argue that conservatives should just be quiet and give in to every demand and sacrifice every principle and compromise every stance because if we stand firm on anything we risk losing the ability to compromise on everything.

It’s exhausting to read your posts and it’s just sad.

I wouldn't know because I haven't argued that.

The GOP is weak right now. MAGA makes it weaker. You can't win the fight right now and you risk helping the DEMs because.

The GOP needs to regroup and come up with smart strategy and not virtue signaling followed by sky screaming when the virtue signaling doesn't create tactile results.

conservatives should just be quiet and give in to every demand

You miss the point entirely. Right now it's about slowing down the DEMs because victory is impossible. That doesn't mean you give in to "every" demand. But the DEMs are a lot stronger right now. Reality dictates they will get more while they have this side of the power struggle.

Oh man, you added the fact that the DEMs invested in the media decades ago and now its an institution they can rely on. That changes the argument ENTIRELY.

You folks need to learn to read the room. There were 8 Rs and 208 Ds that voted to vacate. That's a win for the Ds and the Rs got snookered. The MSM is state owned. Government shut down will 100% fall to the Rs in 2024.
