We have played against some of the weakest defenses in the country. And close to the mid-point in the season, most every team from here on out is ranked MUCH better than what we have played.

And if they can shut parts of our offense down, then we wont be able to keep up with what our defense will allow

Arky - 46th in total D/ 68th in ppg
Moo - 84th in total D/ 100th in ppg
FSU - 95th in total D/ 48th in ppg
Ole Miss - 103rd in total D/ 66th in ppg

Coming our way very soon:

A&M - 5th total D/ 32nd in ppg
UF - 13th total D/ 25th in ppg
Bama - 20th in total D/ 17th in ppg
Mizzou - 29th in total D/ 40th in ppg
Army - 31st in total D/ 33rd in ppg
Aub - 34th in total D/ 27th in ppg

By comparison LSU is 113th in total D/ 89th in ppg. These teams will score LOTS of points against us. We give up 36 points a game against D1 opponents, while only scoring 37. Against very bad defenses so far

have these teams played any world beaters on offense? besides Bama vs Ole Miss...

How many of those defenses are ranked where they are because they played LSU already?

It’s about to get ugly. Buckle up. Not saying our offense won’t score but to act like our offense is going to perform like it did last week every week is delusional.

I mean I agree with you. Offense is good, not quite great. And definitely not elite.

I still give them credit

Offense is not the problem.

Did you consider that the 4 teams we’ve played have a lower ranked D bc they already played us?

A&M, Florida, Bama, etc defenses will drop in the rankings after we put up 40 pts & 500 yds on them too

Id normally agree with you but the throws Jayden is making right now that if given time to make them are unguardable at least by majority of college football teams. If the oline can hold up i see no reason this offense cant score 30 plus points on anyone they play. Problem is with this defense we will need 50 and that may not be enough.

so you're saying our offense sucks and isn't one of the best in the country?

This team is way too unbalanced offensively and defensively to hope for any championship. Might as well as just sit back and enjoy the ride however it plays out.

LSU will still finish as a top 10-15 offense

What’s your point? Those other schools played more warm up squads than we have. We have a good offense, it’s obvious if you look and are willing to admit that there’s progress there. Jayden has evolved at QB, there’s no doubt. None of that matters if this shitty D can’t find a stop.

There’s no sense in bashing this offense.

Go remove the LSU stats from these defenses and let us know if they’re ranking stays the same.

The one good offense they played hung 50 on them and averaged 8.4 yards per play.

Miami says hello. Are they better than our offense?

quote:

UF - 13th total D/ 25th in ppg

Looked like dogshit against Kentucky. Do you think UF outscores us?

quote:

Bama - 20th in total D/ 17th in ppg

The only defense I think legitimately slows us down.

quote:

Mizzou - 29th in total D/ 40th in ppg

Only played KSU. Terrible pass defense.

Army - 31st in total D/ 33rd in ppg

Aub - 34th in total D/ 27th in ppg

Again, Do you think they outscore us?

We aren’t just getting lucky or depending on Daniels to scramble. He’s dissecting defenses and making perfect throws.

I think you’re the unreasonable one.

If we can field even just one of the most basic, average defenses ever, this team is without a doubt a championship team.

Numbers I'm looking at have Arkansas 48th in Total D (339 ypg) and 57th in scoring D (23.8 ppg).

If you take out the 34 points and 509 yards we had against them they would be at 296.5 ypg (18th Total D) and 21.3 ppg (45th scoring D). These numbers arent much different than a lot of the other teams coming up you mentioned.

18th Total D and 45th scoring D and we put up 34/509 on them. Pretty good. Ole Miss would only be averaging 18.5 ppg given up if not for our 49 we put on them which would put them 31st in scoring D instead of 66th.

Maybe the offense is pretty good, and Mizzou's numbers coming into our game with them arent much different than taking our numbers out vs. Arkansas.

LSU will be favored versus ALL of these teams except Bama and maybe Aggie

Our offense will be an issue for ANY of these teams.

We shall see soon enough. Having pretty much no defense puts the offense in something of straights inasmuch as they need be nearly perfect if the team is to have a chance to win.
