It seems like our defensive linemen get pushed around way too easy, often taking each other out of the play. Wouldn’t that point to poor technique and maybe even strength?

I'm glad a thread was started about this as last night I was thinking about how much of a massive disappointment Smith has been.

He didn’t start or play half the snaps last night and it showed. He’s out of position, he won’t be fully recovered from the ACL until thanksgiving and he has an ankle injury. Smith will be fine, be patient.

He’s not a NG he’s an upfield player. Last year Wingo took his place and instead of moving Wingo over the nose or outside and letting Smith play where he excels they switched them. Now Wingo isn’t your traditional nose but he’s a low center gravity, leverage player who can hold his spot and move laterally, he’s also played some 5 tech both years at LSU. This is just another personnel screw up by House and this is happening at all levels of the D.

It’s a complete clown show. Brandon Taylor, an NFL guy, said last night that he has no idea what we’re running or recognizes what this defense is supposed to be. That says it all really.

I guess a lot of Rantards were not very impressed with mason’s play as a true freshman starter on our DL ( and a fresh AA), so they think he needs to sit or transfer.
