Lou Holtz Doubles Down, "Ohio State not a great football team" "Notre Dame won"

Eleven Warriors
So Notre Dame lost to a soft football team two years in a row, and he's still running his mouth?
I'm confused
quote:
When Dakich asked how Holtz reacted to Day's comments after Ohio State's win – which featured the remark, "I'd like to know where Lou Holtz is right now" – Holtz said he understood Day's decision to come after him.
"That's his choice. I can understand why he did," Holtz said. "He doesn't want to talk about Michigan (because he's) 0-2. He doesn't want to talk about the big game coming up against Penn State and against Michigan again. He's a great coach. He's done a great job. He's a great offensive mind. He hired an outstanding defensive coordinator from Oklahoma State (Jim Knowles), who is doing a tremendous job for him. Ohio State is a good football team. I don't think they are a great football team. He can go after me all he wants.
"I honestly felt that Notre Dame was a better football team and more physical, and I am sorry that Coach Day was offended by it. I hope he goes on and has a wonderful year. I don't think they will be a great football team. I really don't. I felt Notre Dame (could have) won the football game."

Imagine getting triggered by Lou Holtz in 2023...

Lou is a new MSB favorite

Honestly the biggest surprise in all of this is Holtz can still form sentences, much less still be alive.

The head coach at Ohio State had a bitchfit rant about what was said by a 90 year semi-retired Lou Holtz of all people. Dr. Lou hasn’t gotten this much attention in years
Day should have never let a sentient Archer Fish trigger him

Little ole Ohio State. Ryan Day has been insufferable ever since that 2019 Clemson playoff game. Surprised he still ain't bitching about that.

That beard dye must be seeping into Day's head

Notre Dame probably would have won if they didn’t have 10 defenders for a fricking goal line play with 1 second left

I'd say the head coach of Ohio State getting triggered by 86 year old not on TV anymore Lou Holtz means him and his team are pretty soft.

last 2 plays they had 10 men on the field...obviously trying to show OSU who was the most physical team

Holtz my be old, nearly incomprehensible, and a shameless ND homer.
But he's still got some troll game to him which I couldn't help but find funny. He was always pushing Mark May's buttons when they were on TV
Also never forget when he was doing those Dr Lou segments and every team he did it for seemed to lose the next game so he shamelessly did one for Navy the week they played ND to try to jinx them.

That iteration of college football final was one of the greatest sports shows ever put on TV. It was the perfect capstone to a college football Saturday. It's too bad it made Rece Davis a household name and got him promoted to gameday, though.

I agree with this. Notre Dame should’ve been up 14-3 at halftime but they fricked up whenever they got past the 50.
Notre Dame seemed like the better team the entire game except for the first 10 minutes in the 3rd
Edit: After examining the play log I would like to retract my statements. I do think Notre Dame still seemed better.

Holtz is 86. He’s probably doesn’t know where he is half the time. It’s like the doofus at Washington Stare going after Lee Corso. Someone should tell Ryan Day “They’re old, man. Your whole life is still in front of you. Move along.”

Yeah it's an afterthought now. It came on at 2 in the morning after Sportscenter on Saturday.

Day feeling the need to respond to Lou Holtz was embarrassing. The way he responded made it twice as bad.
Are you guys really so insecure that you can't look past the opinion of a Notre Dame homer about a game with Notre Dame?

If he said he thought ND was going to be more physical and win the game, no one gives a shite.
When he is calling out Day personally, listing off his 6 total loses, and saying he coaches a soft team, that crosses a line if you say it repeatedly on national TV.

I hate that sputtering old fricker.

Ryan Day is softer than WestCoastAg in a whore house.
