re: Do you foresee Tiger Stadium downsizing?

There was a survey sent to ticket holders a year or two ago with questions on being willing to pay X amount of $ for box seats, tailgating suites where you cook your own food on a grill/cooker outside while in the stadium watching the game, party deck, etc. There were drawings and graphics on what these areas would look like.
They would not send out that survey if they did not seriously consider it. I expect there to be an announcement within the next few years of an alteration of the stadium to install these areas.
The truth is that there is a large market who would pay top dollar to have box seats ten rows up on the sidelines, but since it is not available they won't consider buying tickets. I have been in the South club since 2014, and have become used to that kind of TS experience, and would not consider anything else besides the West Club. I used to be an upper deck/South endzone kind of guy but I could not do that today if I can afford better seats.
The program wants to be funded by alums/businesses who support the school no matter what the product is on the field, and by those who can easily afford the tickets or the premium seats. They cannot rely on fickle fans in the upper decks or the end zones for revenue. Those fans do help out with funding through tickets and concessions, but LSU is more interested in the big money. Example is the Oaks Society that was started last year. They need those kinds of supporters to compete with the big schools around the country.

Taking out the shitty bleachers and putting chairs in every spot would downsize capacity some and make for a more comfortable experience. Nothing worse than fatties spilling into your seat when crowds show up for the bigger games. With a chair you have your spot and no one can spill into it.

Downsizing to lessen traffic,
The problem isn't the people in the stadium. The problem is the thousands there just partying with no tickets.

Out on River Road???? The price of the foundation alone, being that close to the river, would cost the price a the stadium built 10miles from the river.

No, why would this even be necessary? If you have 90,000 in a 100,000 seat stadium, so what? Crappy seats are empty.

I expect them to eventually do something with the old dorms. I know asbestos, and more specifically the cost of abatement, is an issue but eventually they will make use of that space somehow.

Downsizing won't do anything for traffic. Downsizing is needed because Tiger Stadium is 60% full for SEC games.

What needs to happen is the east upper deck needs to be turned into more stadium club seating and just get rid of the conventional stadium seating altogether. That area up there should be more like a standing room only bar area with tvs everywhere and areas to stand to watch the game on the field if you want, but the gist of that area should be more of a place to just hangout and eat and drink and watch tv. Hell if they could put some video gambling machines up there, that place would rake in money for every single game. There should be restarants up there as well, no concession stand crap. Hell you dont' even need to sell tickets. Know the capacity and just let people pay the day of the game. Make it simple like $50 a person to get in. I promise you'll make your money on beer and food, and the majority of the area needs to be either covered and somewhat climate controlled.

tell that to the fat arse that sat next to me and my 12 year old saturday night in our chair seats that spilled his fat arse legs all over into our seats b/c his fatass couldn't close his fat arse legs together and his fat arse shoulders and arms were hanging off his fat arse belly into our space as well.

Serious question . Not trolling at all. My last Game at Tiger Stadium was back in 2005 when LSU squeezed out a victory against Troy (state) .
Does an end zone ticket have a value cost of $170 ? That can’t be true huh ?
I thought upper west tickets would be at about $40 per game. I guess I am the old grandpa now ?

Would you pay more for your ticket if it meant a greater overall game day experience?
LSU does treat its regular paying customers like hostages, so this checks out.
If you pay more, we won't have some blond lady scream in a microphone at you in 8 separate segments of a football game. We also might pre-cool drinks before selling them and wipe some of the urine off the floor of the bathroom.

Yes IF they do anything just make the seats wider and put actual seats in there

There is NO clear vision of what the future holds for College Football. (College Sports in general)
My thoughts are if LSU and its sports are the lifeblood of the Capital City economy do whatever is needed to invest and make it amazing that people want to spend money on, because frankly
There aint much else in this town.

100% it WILL happen- not just at LSU, but everywhere. Not smaller stadiums- bigger seats which means fewer seats. LSU Ath Admin has literally said this. More premium areas, which means less seats. Again EVERYONE will do this- CF attendance has fallen for 15 straight years.

The hope would be that the Allevaization of the athletic department will be taken apart brick by brick. What I mean by that is the mindset that the athletic department exists solely to extract even more money from the consumer without providing any additional value to the consumer whatsoever.
This mindset happened to coincide with the Alleva "goal is to be in the conversation" era. It's going to take a massive shift in the department to move to a new model. LSU had been blessed with nearly two decades of not having to worry about the consumer experience of a football game. Those days are over. I think LSU is near the limit of being able to raise prices just to raise revenue and charging for things that were free.

I hope so. Nothing worse than a not full statdium. Install chair backs. Maybe a canopy on the upper decks to blocks the sun. Or just build a new dome stadium. Lol

A canopy on the upper decks would be great but that is never going to happen. $$$

That was 2004--Marcus Randle to Robert Royal for the game winner.

It would also mean lost revenue
The business-minded person would see the lost seats and investment in amenities as a valid excuse to raise prices. Therefore, “no loss of revenue”
