Gonna be a hell of a game, Let's see if JuJuan Johnson can continue his pace for the season toward breaking Brock Berlin's career state record for yards from scrimmage.
He is currently averaging 396 YPG this season, 238.7 passing and 157.3 rushing. If LCA makes it to the quarterfinal, he needs to average 305.4 per game for the rest of the games, 277.7 if they make the semis, and 254.5 if they make the finals.

You are probably right. I'm just a little surprised by how much lower this team's talent is compared to the last few years. They may end up third in district this year. The Central game is huge for multiple reasons.
I agree with you about St. Charles Catholic and Calvary. They are both really good this year.

Didn’t Catholic get dinged for their recruiting violations when this years senior class came in as freshman? I’m pretty sure it happened at the end of their freshman year. Maybe the recruiting pipeline dried up for a little while when those violations and subsequent sanctions came to light.

know also that the CHS people were annoyed last year when HC decided to make it a home and home. That was done kind of at the last minute and left CHS with only 4 home games last year. Also, playing on a Saturday afternoon, in September, at Gormley is absolutely terrible.
What I heard was that we wanted to travel for a year… we weren’t worried about losing a home game because we hosted two more than usual the year before, and it takes a lot of work to put on a home game
It’ll be hard for them to find our power points anywhere else, much less in a team they’re that confident they can beat
People clown us for not beating them, but we’ll never beat them if we don’t play. Even if not as many of their current kids come from St Bernard, there’s still a lot of alumni, so much so that Old Arabi Bar was showing the stream of the game. It might not be the Backyard Brawl it used to be, but it still can be a good 5A matchup that draws more fans than any other team that plays here, with the exception of a new down the road high school

Neville isn’t going to know what to do when they have to leave Bill Ruple Stadium.

What I’m wondering about the St Martins-Abramson cancellation is whether it was a real threat or Abramson didn’t want to take a butt kicking from Harlem Berry and co. or St Martin’s parents were horrified at the prospect of spending three hours in the East
And then Carver has the rest of their season canceled… between McMain, them, and Warren Easton, NOLA public schools are having a rough year

Maybe a little of both. Airline scores fast and often.
54-21 at the half.

Airline is good. They did have a key injury to a 2026 WR who was playing well.

It has to be the game Chalmette makes the most money.

Without a doubt… let’s just hope both teams feel like it’s a fair deal when they split it up

Carver has had coaches suspended, already, and canceled the season to avoid the inevitable fine.
Warren Easton, I think, may be able to salvage the rest of the season. They were caught scouting a kid in my backyard, at Marrero Middle.

WE was already in trouble, this could grow. Carver cancelled season to avoid future penalties as a repeat offender I believe.

I’ll be damned if they look at all of the NOLA publics for violations after all this

Saw highlights of the Dunham freshman QB from last nights win. Kid looks like future high 4 or 5 star recruit.

And kudos to Ruston if they win. LCA is really solid on both sides of the ball. JuJuan Johnson reminds me a lot of Jared Mitchell, who ironically played baseball at LSU. But he was a speedster that was truly a double threat at Westgate. I could see Johnson shining on either side of the ball.
On an unrelated note, who does Jesuit’s scheduling? They play Ruston and LCA on top of that district? Holy smokes.

I remember when this game used to be competitive. But Hahnville administration is clueless and doesn’t give 2 fricks about athletics any longer.
