Why doesn’t Deion get criticism for beating a team that they were favored by 23 points?

They were favored by 23 points and barely beat CSU in two overtimes. Im not mad at Colorado or Deion but the espn crew after the game screaming “Do you believe now!” and the media acting like they are the best team in the country, I just don’t get it.

This. That would be a rent a win for any good team

Well he did say in his press conference that his team played like hot garbage. So at least there’s some self reflection.

I can understand vs Oregon and USC but not Colorado St and Nebraska whose terrible. TCU was the only game that they surprised me not knowing what to expect from both teams. I wish Hunter was healthy to play to see how he matched up against Oregon and USC. I hope he gets back healthy and back on the field. He is fun to watch.

If he didn’t win his first two games, he probably would not have been a 23 pt favorite.

It’s like the people who say Deion is just a cheerleader and not a coach. But then credit the CSU win to opposing coach shitting the bed…almost as if CSU was outcoached?

Funny how the needle has moved from, “he will be a complete flop” to now, “ pfft, he didn’t cover the spread”

We can start with point spreads are created by bookies to get money bet on both sides it’s not some Newtonian mathematical truth. The public has been betting Colorado heavily which pushed the line up.

Colorado was 1-11 last year and have a completely revamped roster. This is not an established program playing a “rent a win” at this time.

Face It…. The media is hyping this up as much as they can… nothing like this has happened before. He basically gutted his team and replaced them with players he wanted. And the fact that Deion is a super salesman has the media in a frenzy. However, this will go away after the next two weeks when they get crushed by Oregon and USC.

A lot of the same people not understanding why Deion isn't getting bashed for not covering the point spread are the same people who told us Colorado would be awful this season.

Right up until they kicked off week 1, there were posters and threads with posters saying they may be just as bad as last season.

Those predictions didn't come to fruition. Instead of just taking their lumps, the goalposts are constantly moving.

Nothing personal against him. Deion has his players ready to play, Travis Hunter is a dawg, Shedeur Sanders is a great quarterback, and they are a fun team to watch.

While this is true, the media and some people are going in the complete opposite direction acting like Colorado is poised to become some sort of college football power
