Get on Highway 7 at Harrison and drive South all the way to the Interstate. The faster you drive it, the tighter your butt will be clinched when you reach I-40. Drive a little too fast and you buy the farm. Seriously an incredible winding road with many sharp turns and a ton of motorcycles and super decked out fast/fast cars doing outlaw road racing amongst regular traffic. Everyone who loves driving needs to do it at least once.

Do 7 Hollows Hike at Petit Jean.

Pineapple milkshake at Feltner’s Whatta-Burger.

Old South Restaurant blows Stoby’s out of the water. Order pinto beans. Waitress cannot pronounce it properly and says “pitino” beans. Food is good.

CJ's Butcher Boy Burgers: best burger in the area.

Stoby's: one of the better homestyle restaurants in the area. Great breakfast.

Beezer's Fine Billiards: f you like a pretty solid pool room. They do serve alcohol now.

I just drove to Little Rock a few months ago. There any many “sees” the entire way. There are no must-sees.

Been going to Petit Jean since I was a kid. Worth the detour to go through Morrilton up the mountain then go in to Russellville taking 154 to 7. Petit Jean or close by is the beginning of the True Grit trail. Really beautiful country through there.

I see a couple of people beat me to CJ's. The wineries in Altus are cool. The restaurant at Wiederkehr is good.

Sounds suspicious. The King ate there. We can’t go on with suspicious minds.

I like Mt. Ida and Route 27 up to Russellville. There are definitely faster ways to get there from Louisiana, if you prefer the shortest drive possible and sticking to interstates.

I first booked a room at the Aqua Motel in Story, AR, just north of Mt. Ida on Route 27, because Hot Springs was full on a holiday weekend. I've gone back several times, when I had other options, because I like the place. Nothing fancy, an older place with 6 rooms; there are kitchenettes on each end for $5 or $10 more per night.

Lake Ouachita, the reservoir, is just north of there. You'll see lots of well-kept trailers and camp house type places used as weekend homes around the lake.

Edited for grammar.

You should go to Russellville, KY instead and visit Kige Ramsey at Roy’s BBQ. Get the smoked brisket and have them bring the sides to you.
