According to Michael Scotto, the Pels have an upcoming workout scheduled with Will Barton. I’m sure nothing will come of it but I find it a tad bit interesting. Not much else to talk about until camp starts anyway.

Probably just looking for someone to replace Trey until he's 100%

They would need a roster spot to sign him. Unless a trade is going to happen, I don't see this as anything other than a camp body.

Nope. We need cash.

We can just keep that last spot open.

3 2 ways will most likely be Landers Nolley, Seabron, and Robbins.

Next year: I hope
Out/ In
Kira- Seabron (or stay 2 way)
Zeller- Robbins
15th- Landers/ Draft/ open

You're right. For some reason NBA.com still has Willie on the roster.

Kinda weird

We need money, I don't believe we have roster spots, and honestly, we really don't have minutes for him.

If we're bringing in a minimum salary guy to take minutes from our top half of the 1st round draft pick, that's pretty telling on what the team is telling you what they think of Hawkins already, so I'm going to assume nothing comes of this.

Could be just a camp invite.

Yeah, adding a vet doesn’t make a ton of sense. He’s working out with other teams too. A lot of times things like this are just doing favors for agents.

Yeah. I don't get this. Guy is a lottery pick and is not supposed to be a project. He can't contribute at all as a rookie? How many years will it take?

I wouldn’t read a lot into it, yet.

not going to read into it too much at all, but will jot this down as possibly the first sign that he hasn't done so well to start his pro career. Obviously there's still a ton of time for him to prove himself, and if he simply becomes the knock down shooter he's expected to be, he'll be good. I worry about his scrawny size and defense.
I would expect him to struggle shooting the ball to start the season until he finds his groove and adjust to the speed and length of the nba game, but he should be getting his minutes to work through it, and zero of those minutes will be in the G-Leauge.

pels have 1 shooter on the team right now and he’s hurt. this would be an upgrade whether it’s an insurance policy or not. this is the exact type of guy Griff should have been loading up on earlier in free agency but he sat on his hands

FIFY.

The idea that we should've "loaded up" on Will Barton-esque players this summer is ... an interesting take.

the thing called the luxury tax doesn’t matter until the end of the season, plenty time to figure things out. considering he’s still available this late in the process, i’m sure his contract for this season will have some flexibility for the team that signs him

and yes, shooting is what the pelicans should be loading up on

CJ McCollum says hi.

Even without Trey, I doubt Will Barton would crack the rotation.

fair but the point remains we all talk about the lack of shooting and Barton provides that. and shooters should be cracking the lineup especially while zion is on the court with 2nd unit players

We also just drafted a shooter.

Let Hawkins play the role you think Barton should play.
