College doesn’t have to be that expensive depending on where you live.
Wife and I have raised (are raising) 2. 1 in college, 1 a HS Senior.
Both have good enough grades they get (or will get) the Zell Miller Scholarship (Free Tuition at any state school). This leaves them with approx 12k a year in room and board expenses each.
They could pay that on their own with a part time job. But we help them to the tune of 8k each per year. The other is their responsibility. By the time they are seniors this should disappear as an expense for the wife and I.
We didn’t save any for their college. Cash flowing the whole thing.
While they were young we didn’t earn near as much as now. Around 60k a year at the start.

it’s more irresponsible to let you and BabyTac continue to create posts on the OT

You can buy a 7 seat used Tahoe for less than $20k.

If you are homeless then you’re not competent

This might be one of the most ridiculous posts I’ve seen in a while on here. Responsible people can raise good kids without a lot of money. After school activities? WTF man? Travel ball isn’t a requirement ya know. Buy your kid a fricking bicycle and tell him to be home for dinner

This is another great point. If you live in McAllen, texas you will live like a king on a $140k income even if you have 4 kids.

Lexus is much more reliable car brand than Chevy. More luxurious, doesn’t break down as much, and is still priced at a reasonable range unlike Bentleys and Rolls Royce

At whatever income in your area, you need govt to help subsidize your kids, including free school lunch

Let’s see, my first child (back in 2000) I was in straight commission sales and made $70000. That was enough.
My 5th child, in the middle of Covid, I was also in straight commission sales but only made $90000 because of supply chain issues.
Nobody has gone hungry or suffered.
Now I make nearly 4 times that but we still live like I earn 100k.

Most people today shouldn't have kids. Don't know how to raise them properly, or they don't have a mother or father figure.

My wife and kids can’t make it work on $250k per year. There’s no limit to how much money women can spend. We were happier in our starter home making $90k
With the inflation, $250k is the old $100k.
