On a serious note, how Disney handled this was a mess.

What abt NBC and Fox for Baton Rouge DirecTV customers?

Back on the plantation, Spectrum subscribers!

Well ESPN will not be Disney owned soon. Or at least within a year. Apple is supposedly buying ESPN which I am glad.

They got rid of FXX though and I still can’t watch family guy! Plus on top of that my spectrum bill this month was $20 more and I didn’t even have all channels.

Good luck with that one. AT&T/Directv have been in a stalemate with Nexstar Media Group since earlier this year.
Coming soon to YouTubeTV may be the same dog and pony show of holding out for more money. Right now the networks are controlling local TV carriage on some virtual providers. TV station owners are trying to get a slice of that pie since they are getting the short end of the stick.
But that is why Virtual providers cost less, they are not paying 50 cents or a dollar a month in retransmission fees to the local TV stations. That fee is reduced or is going straight to the networks.
You are witnessing the end of cable as a mainstream TV provider and the rise of the virtual providers before regulators write in regulations of program access and PEG channels on the local level.

YouTubeTV already had this battle once with ESPN.

I’ll take my roughly $4.18 for 10 days missed and my time served.

Try "F is for Family" on Netflix. Bill Burr. I haven't laughed so hard in years.

And it will happen again.
There is a reason it started at 40 dollars a month and then jumped up to 50 and now to 75 a month.
TV and Cable networks signed significantly excessive sports contracts to stay relevant with live sports content into the next decade. Similar to the regional sports channel issues, the same thing could happen to the Fox’s, ESPN’s, CBS’s, NBC’s, etc. as ad revenue shrinks due to audience shrinkage and changes in revenue streams from traditional means through cable to virtual cable systems like YouTubeTV or a direct to consumer model.

I dropped YouTubeTV after the most recent increase, so no big time football for me this year.
I get ESPN+ included with my phone plan, so I’ve been watching a lot of small school FCS football this season haha

my folks will be happy - not because they want spectrum, but the apartment they have has Spectrum lumped into their rent, so now they can watch the AU games and not have to buy a streaming service to watch them.

So that we all have to have yet another subscription to watch games?
