Yea! Passed over the lake on I-10 yesterday, and the part of the lake north of the Interstate was totally clogged with thick carpet of Water Hyacinth. Like…they’d pushed all of it in the whole lake to a small area by the golf course.

No capitol city and flagship university should have a problem feature like that, though. Hopefully they'll realize upkeep usually cost less than total remediation and take care of it this time.

Currently they are moving sludge from one lake to another lake under the guise of expanding the bird sanctuary. It’s costing millions, made everything smell like shite, and has yet to remove anything. At least shitball island off of Stanford looks awesome.

My dad told me that he used to take my mom there to watch the submarine races at night when he was at LSU.
