Had a flight earlier this morning and my ears popped and I can't hear on one side of my ear (really both of them). What are your suggests to fix this? Or should I accept being deaf?

Equalize by pinching your nose and blowing. You can also chew gum or rotate your jaw to "pop" them.

Yawning works best for me. The pressure causes me intense discomfort, especially when landing in NOLA.

Chew gum. And if you have a bad case of diarrea, plan accordingly walking to the WC.

Are there really adults out there who haven’t learned to equalize?

Make a really weird guttural sound, flail in your seat as if you are having a seizure, kick the seat in front of you and once you have everybody's attention, start yelling Roll Tide.

Do a diarrhea to relieve the pressure.

That sounds like the opposite of popping ears.

I suggest you pop them to equalize.

An ounce of prevention or whatever. Chew gum and use in ear headphones or ear plugs while flying. It'll pop on its own in a day or two but be ready for some pain.

I chew gum.

The last few years have gone from just annoying pops to painful pressure. I was descending into atl a couple years ago and had severe pressure in my forehead, felt like a thousand tiny needles poking my head. Hurt like a m’fer

Get some EarPlanes at Walmart or at the little airport stores. They work great

I (knock on wood) hadn’t had it bad since I was about 10. I remember being in tears on descent once, believe some of it had to do with allergies/ stopped up sinuses I used to have.

Anyway, for the return we tried these things out called “Ear Planes”, and it seemed to help with pressure equalization. Basically are just a type of ear plug. You can still find them at a lot of the airport stores.
