Stop it.

Theyre completely different. Miles wouldve never passed up the opportunity for two FG kicks/6 points. Kelly takes gambles. Miles had a gadget play for when he went for these types of plays, fake fg etc. Kelly just lines up a shotgun handoff.

Also, Miles wouldve never ended a game with 12 rb carries. Would be more like 30 no matter what happened in the game. Kelly is more like a crappy Sean Payton than Les Miles. We threw for over 300, with a garbage time score. Miles teams rarely passed for over 300 yards. We used to lose games watching our passing offense go for 115 yards passing.

Point is shut up. Theyre not alike.

They may both suck and be old school in several ways, but the comparison is poor.

the rant loves narrative momentum, it makes it easier for all of those people who can't formulate their own opinion have something to say that the majority on here will agree with

You know this place has hit rock bottom when people are here praising Les Miles.

One won a NC. The other hasn't...

There is a definite parallel and it has to do with the QB. Kelly is sticking by Daniels through thick and thin, similar to how Miles stuck with Jefferson no matter what. The only reason Lee played as much as he did was because Jefferson wasn't available until the Alabama game, where Lee was quickly swapped out when he struggled. Jefferson struggles in the NCG and is left in to twist in the wind instead of swapping him out with Lee, who was a better passer.

Sound familiar?

Miles won a Natty in 2007 and played for another in 2012.

I'm guessing BK watched both games from his recliner, at home.

OP is right. Miles/Kelly comparisons dont work.

With Miles we usually had an elite defense with superstars like Peterson and Honey Badger. We won 10 games a year and usually at least had a chance at winning titles.

Kelly took LSU to the SEC championship in the fluke year that Alabama was weak enough to inexplicably lose to Tennessee.

We comparing 50 passing yards to 350 passing yards?

Miles was devoted to the running game through big backs and stacked lines.

Kelly is the opposite. He runs his QB and smatters in some shotgun runs to the RBs.

They are not similar at all.

while it's true that they are different, some of the results are the same.

with miles, pass was a 4 letter word. Kelly likes the pass, but he likes the qb who can't throw.

he is also stuck on a qb who will never be the guy he envisions. sure, if you could make JD the passer that Travis JOrdan is, you'd be unstoppable. he doesn't have the skill set Jordan has. that guy can see down the field and see where to place the ball. JD just isn't that guy.

and it appears that he is determined to make Perkins something he is not. What you had was pretty damn good.

then there are halftime adjustments....

yeah, they are different, but some of the same character traits.

stubborness of miles.

The comparison is their stubbornness, not the exact offense they run.

One has a natty, the other doesn’t. Until they both do, that’s all the difference I gaf about

If there’s one thing I hated about Miles, it was spending the first two downs running for one yard.

That said, I think he’d ream the collective asses of the WRs for dropping a ball that hit them in the chest.

So not really a comparison at all then. BKelly is more retarded Sean Payton than he is Miles.

Kelly can’t hold Miles’ hat.

While CLM often won ugly, he won, more than any other LSU coach. Should have two natties including a perfect season.

Kelly couldn’t win one despite national recruiting, cupcake schedules, and media benefit of the doubt every single year.

I suspect that they’re very similar in terms of arrogant intransigence, and a refusal to admit to their limitations. I hope not, but I suspect.
