re: Why do people equate criticizing JD with “Blaming him entirely” for the loss?

I think he went for them because he knew field goals weren't going to beat FSU. We all knew FSU was going to put up points.
People on this board (and facebook, i've noticed) are arguing as though FSU is a bad team (because they arent in the SEC).
It makes discussing this game with them tough. Dudes acting like losing to FSU is an embarassing loss simply because they're FSU.

There’s literally zero reason to play him moving forward. We aren’t winning a title with him and he’s gone after this year so give some experience to and develop the guy that actually has a chance to lead us somewhere. Anyone that can’t acknowledge this has their head completely up their arse

Losing to FSU wasn't embarrassing. The way we lost was embarrassing though imo.

Thats pretty much where I’m at on it now.
It made a lot of sense for JD to be the guy last year. An experienced guy with a very “high floor”. Last year was a complete rebuilding year with no championship expectations, everyone just wanted a decent season to build some momentum for the program going forward.

JD is an elite running QB with a very good arm, and no trust in his teammates.
Hes not an elite QB. Not a championship QB
Its not Nuss vs JD. Its JD is limited, we all know it and theres really no reason to continue trying to make him improve.
Either change the offense to something out of 1970s Oklahoma or change the QB>

85% of the tards don’t know enough football to suggest anything other than a quarterback change. In that case they aren’t worth listening to.
In this case I think we just had a bad, bad, bad game plan offensively and a complete meltdown in the second half defensively. I think we are just really bad in the defensive backfield. Luckily for us Travis may be the best QB we see all year.

I said last week we would have to win in a shootout and I hoped JD had taken the next step because he would need to play better than last year to win. This is because I knew our defense had questions and we were going against a really good offensive team.
I never thought we wouldn’t be able to run the ball or that we would line 4 up at ILB and have him in coverage. Those two things were major reasons we lost the game. But JD still isn’t the guy I want back there in a shootout. Nothing about his play has improved over last year. We have serious issues.

It's just a straw man argument to try and protect JD. The problem isn't JD. The problem is the OC and HC are trying to call a passing game with a QB that can't pass. If you can't air the ball out, then you have to resort to more misdirection and play small ball. JD has a mental block and is who he is. We can either coach and call plays that cater to his problem, or we can continue to do long developing plays only to have him bust them with the check down or running.
Or just replace the QB!
Or just replace the QB!

If a year ago, Daniels had played like he did on Sunday, we would have beaten FSU.
Daniels would have to be a Heisman level player to beat FSU on Sunday. That wasn't out of the question. The hope was that major strides were made in the offseason. It just didn't happen (at least for game 1).
But, he made enough plays for us to win. The defense fell apart in the 2nd half. And, our WRs (drops and falling down forcing the interception) killed us.
The only disappointment people should have with Daniels is the realization that the unlikely (he turned the corner) didn't happen. He didn't lose us that game.

I literally just watched the play again, and the ball hit BTJ in the stomach. You have to catch it in that scenario and you're in the redzone.
Yes. It hit him in the stomach after he had to stop and backtrack to the ball.

JD is the kid in class disrupting everyone else, causing problems but his parents fail to see it and blames everyone else. At some point you have to realize he may not be the only problem but he is the main problem. He is the damn QB.
If you look back at some articles about JD leaving ASU, including an interview of his mom, the same problems we are having with him were happening at ASU.
He has improved very little, if at all. He can’t change how he is.

JD accounted for most of the offense. THIS IS A BAD THING.
You do this when your quarterback is incapable of getting the ball to other playmakers. It is a sign of a weak QB. JD's big yardage was on broken plays and scrambles.
If JD is the problem, we'll know soon enough. With the way he is playing, he will be hurt by week 5.

What position can affect the game more than QB? I'll wait.

He is a bad qB. Sunday demonstrated for all who are willing to see that the man is a failure as QB. It is BK's fault for bringing him here to see him crap the bed. He cannot make good decisions because he has no aptitude for it. He, by himself, is holding the offense and thereby the entire team back.

A QB who cannot pass is a bad QB in today's game. Is everyone afraid to speak the truth? BK is probably woke.

The play calling and over all offensive scheme does not help him out. Our running plays are terrible. There is no imagination to the offense, which makes it easier to defend. Have we seen a running back or wide receiver screen called since Kelly got here? Duke ate Clemson up with screens.

He's a bad QB. He won't play QB in the NFL, unless a team wants him to backup their real dual threat. He should be catching balls instead of throwing them. He'd be a great LSU WR.
