Yea, but does it wash clothes?

When we replaced our washing machine earlier this year we purposefully went with the one that had the least electronic bells and whistles.

Too many chips trying to do too many things means a lot of things can go wrong. This calls for the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid).

I have a top-loading Maytag from the late 90’s and plan on using it and getting it repaired forever.

Did I mention it’s never needed servicing since I bought it?

We got a GE Commercial washer from a building supply company. Just a tub, agitator and 3 knobs. Top load.

Front loaders are mold machines and don’t clean for shite. Who needs an app and Wi-Fi to clean clothes?

It's the fancier, more hi tech washers that break more often. Just go with something super basic (if you can find one)

My ol' lady still cleans our clothing by washboard and hangs them out to dry.

They need access to shutdown your machine during the climate change lockdowns.

My parents fridge is older than me (30) and still kicking. It doesn't have any buttons up front, just cools on the left and freezes on the right. I had to replace my POS Samsung smart fridge after 2 years.

We’ve gone way too far with technology about 20 years ago, maybe more. I understand the hypocrisy in that statement as I type this on an iphone, but the iphone has absolutely ruined everything. The iphone generation, which coincides with the every fricking child gets a trophy generation are now turning into employees. They make up my workforce and I am riding on a sinking ship with no refuge in sight.

The 90’s were the sweet spot. Sony walkmans, having to call someone’s house to speak to them, or, holy frick, imagine this, becoming a solid communicator and actually planning shite in advance! Our constant accessibility has made everyone so socially awkward and have zero communication skills. I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall daily

I can turn the range hood in my house on and off with my phone. I have no idea why I would ever need to do that, but it's an included feature.

It's completely absurd.

We had the baseline Ropers for years. Anything went wrong, me and YouTube could fix. Switched to Samsung and regretted it before long. Now we are back to old school beaters.

I hate the HE washing machines. I stupidly bought one a few years ago and got rid of it two weeks later. It didn't rinse the soap out of clothes and sounded like a dying moose. I got a washing machine with an agitator and like it much better.

Just buy a Speed Queen and don’t even waste the time to look at anything else.
