You've heard about those massive contracts the conferences have been getting right?

Networks have to pay for them somehow.

That has to be a misapplcation of the rule.

Ok so then it’s an unsportsmanlike conduct and the guy gets to stay in the game.

The interpretation is the play is over the instant the QB begins his slide. Since it was 4th down, possession changes immediately.

The late hit thus occurs after Duke has already taken possession of the ball.

Defender lowered his head. You have to keep your head up when tackling. Does targeting enforcement suck? Yes, but by the rule, that was clearly targeting.

It is about a defenseless player, which the runner is when the slide even if the play is technically dead.

Then the roughing results in 1st down. The QB slide here is throwing all these people off who arguing Clemson should have been awarded a 1st down.

It's a little weird but technically correct. I wouldn't be surprised if that gets changed over the offseason.

Why change it and reward the QB for being a pussy

A penalty for roughing the passer happens during the play.

The moment the QB slid the play was dead and the possession was over.

Clemson has dominated the 2nd half but they look like LSU inside the 5 yard line on offense.

Probably 20 points at a minimum left on the field this game.

I was afraid he would only get it to the 20 and they would return it. Duke hasn't had a lot of luck tonight

because they dont want defenses to have an excuse to take a free shot on a QB w/o having to worry about losing the ball.

Dabo is fuming. There’s another sneak where more yards were gained because they held up

The pass isn’t incomplete until it hits the ground. If he’s blown up right after a throw, the play is still on-going.

Clemson keeps jumping offside. IDK why if you're Duke you don't tell your center to just snap it and take the free 5 yards.
