Just because something isn’t a pee-pee poo-poo “joke”, doesn’t mean it’s not “funny”.
The banter at the end of that movie is- (paraphrased)
“There’s still the matter of the 10,000 francs”
“It should do well to pay our expenses”
“Our expenses? Louis this couldn’t be the beginning of a beautiful friendship”
It’s obviously a lighthearted, funny moment, after the tension they just went through. And it’s also considered one of the best last lines in any movie.

You would hope that's sort of a given. See Dr. Strangelove...in isolation, it means nothing.
But...the world is ending...(its such a deep dive joke) Nazis wanted perfect able-bodied people...he's a former Nazi party member from WWII and he's done his job by destroying America after the war and wants to be part of the future.
He's now capable to contribute to the return of the Third Reich and is begging to be let in again.. "Mein Furher I can walk!"
But that's what's funny about it...its ambiguous... Its clever. Could mean other things.

oh good grief. a "pee-pee poo-poo" joke? that's what you got from my comment? that just because i think the last line of Jaws, Casablanca, or fricking Silence of the Lambs arent funny, that means i only like potty humor? get the frick out of here with your high brow bullshite. the last lines to Casablanca are fantastic and one of the greatest endings of all time. but you know what it isnt? it isnt funny.
