Some EXTREME homerism from that pod as well as flat out inaccurate information.
quote:

-LSU can't rotate 3 guys against the FSU O-line all game. Can't imagine that happening and still be going strong in the 3rd quarter.

-LSU guys are solid but not the guys you think of when you think of LSU defensive lineman

-None of the LSU transfers were stars at their previous stops.
Every single transfer who will play meaningful snaps was a starter at their previous school

DL - Jefferson and Ovie started all but one game at WVU and UT.

LB - Speights was an all conference MLB

DB - Sam, Chestnut, Harris, and Alexander all started every game at their prospective schools.
quote:

-LSU does have Harold Perkins though. All the respect for Perkins but LSU can't use him like FSU will with Verse.
What? Verse is an edge rusher. Perkins can play MLB, OLB, or spy, or EDGE. He can objectively be used in more ways than Verse
quote:

-Perkins at SPY works great for FSU. He might be fast enough to shoot the gap after Jordan.
Harold Perkins is significantly faster than Jordan Travis He hawked Malik Hornsby, probably the fastest quarterback in CFB last year, on numerous occasions. They're acting as if a spy just sits back and lets the quarterback come to him. As soon as Travis steps out of the pocket, Perkins is in pursuit.
quote:

-Why are the ranked this high? A guy like Sage Ryan was a highly ranked guy. Aaron Anderson was a high ranked guy. What are we missing? We're not homers.
This doesn't make any sense lol. we're ranked high because we won the west and return 17 starters.
quote:

-Verse is unblockable 1 on 1. FSU has so many guys.
Very true when you're going up against Cam Wire instead of Will Campbell or Emory Jones or Lance Heard.

Norvell would never call a player by just his last name. Kelly and his players are strictly transactional.

What? Without even looking up all of them, Omar Speights and Jordan Jefferson definitely were.

Bye-bye credibility.

People think that LSU good at the end of the year and they really weren't. They looked terrible at the end. They were really on good in the middle of the season.
Well no shite. These idiots obviously don't know about our roster situation last year. Of course we were worn down. Yet the team still massively overachieved, and exceeded ALL expectations.

My counter:

- Outside the LSU game FSU played 3 ranked teams and lost all 3. They caught LSU game 1 before we got our footing.

- Travis is a good QB, but he wasn't consistent either. Against Clemson 24/42; NC St 15/30 1 TD 2 INT; Florida 13/30 (how do you do that vs that horrible Gator secondary)

- Mock Anderson at your peril. He will be the x-factor. Either a ST return or a catch in the slot. He's housing a play Sunday.

- LSU RBs had 13 carries for 39 yards the first game. OL is now solid and a strength. Don't be surprised if Kelly decides to play smash mouth and run it down that 75th ranked rush D's throat.

- This game you have to account for Perkins and that changes how you scheme

So LSU is losing because CBK doesn't call players by their first name?? Ok, LOLOLOLOL.

This. The OL should be night and day from last year. With the continuity of the OL and the quality depth at RB, I expect LSU to run the ball at will.

That wasn’t exactly objective analysis. It comes across as quite biased.

Been watching FSU talk shows on utube and their side of things are somewhat delusional because they haven’t been relevant for so long and are desperate to think they are back
They have a young unproven coach with no coaching pedigree
We have a proven mature coach that will win a couple of nattys here

There's a LOT of delusion and the back end of their takes

-Like that BK only calls them by their last names. He's not close with his players. Why act like you're close to these kids. It's not his personality.
-Never heard Mike Norvell call a kid by his last name and Brian Kelly did it twice in 30 seconds.

Some great in depth analysis from these rocket scientists. Way to take a sound bite and create a ridiculous narrative

At the end of the day, some of the things they said are fair, and some are outlandish

Acting like whether Kelly uses a player’s first or last name has any bearing on this game whatsoever exposes their mindset lol

Them saying "Malik Nabors is a good receiver but Florida State has 2 game changing receivers" is so asanine.

Malik is the best skill guy in this game.

Then saying Verse is a guy who can go chase down a quarterback and LSU doesn't have that is just so fricking dumb.

ETA: just getting to the spy stuff This is so dumb. Harold "might" be the only player in the country able to catch Jordan Travis. They're acting like Travis is some elite runner. He's not even as fast as Jayden.

I love when people say, "What are we missing, we are not homers." That always means you are homers and cannot be objective

And I get when you're a fan of a team you're covering there's going to be some biases. I don't normally get mad at it because I understand it's just the nature of fandom. But good lord some of that was objectively false, some of it completely irrelevant (calling players by last name vs first name, wtf? ), some of it completely delusional.

Are these guys usually respected when it comes to covering FSU or are they just a fan podcast like Pod of Geauxld is for us? Because if it's the former they should be embarrassed but if it's the latter then it's at least a little more understandable.

That reads like some drunk college kids got together and gave their thoughts on the game. That’s embarrassing analysis that sounds like they’re about to play Georgia Southern.
