Looks like he was driving an electric scooter on a sidewalk endangering pedestrians. I don't see an issue taking him down before he hit an innocent bystander.

If the guy wasn't being violent or endangering anyone, this was a stupid move by the cop. You can't kill a man just for fleeing.
BUT...
If it's true he was riding his scooter on the sidewalk endangering the lives of innocent people, which I'm sure some were children, the proper action would be to stop him however you can.
I'm sure the cop had zero intention of killing him, and just wanted to save lives. Innocent lives.

Guy was fleeing on the scooter/motorcycle/whatever on the sidewalk, potentially putting bystanders at risk. But of course the cop is gonna be hung out to dry in NYC.

depends...was the cooler still in good working order after? I have that exact same cooler, was 25 dollars at the dollar general.
Innocent is my vote on this though. Even if the dude was only running from a bs crime...one, don't run, otherwise frick what happens to you. two, riding down the sidewalk and bound to hurt someone, frick what happens to you again.
