If that bayou/creek is like everything else down in SWLA it’s probably dried up but hopefully it could still be enough of a break

That was origin of it around noon or little after and was growing throughout evening. Around 6 or so it went into full sprint in a NNW fashion
Any idea or word on what caused it?

What does Blackrock want with Merryville?

Very little fire in timber management these days, which helps prevent wildfires. Why you might ask? Attorneys is why.

Merryville. It would be best if that town ceased to exist. Talk about a lot trashy people and leadership. I’ve seen networking of their animal shelter, the place isn’t really one and won’t even feed them. A few good people do and beg across the state for help getting them out.

Looks like most of the land is actually owned by Rice University in Houston.

photos from Merryville
My cousin teaches at Singer. Here's some photos from the area.
The fuel station in the second picture is the Singer Food Store, which on the map appears to be right next to the fire station. The picture looking towards Merryville from Singer from the 27/110 intersection. The huge fire is towards Merryville.
Almost nothing there but pine forest, and I'm sure it's extremely dry.
