Introducing the soon-to-be LNG Center for Excellence at McNeese State University

quote:

The soon-to-be-constructed LNG Center for Excellence at McNeese State University is expected to create career opportunities for Louisiana students who want to work in the Liquified Natural Gas industry. This morning the executive director of the center, Jason French, joined us.

The center began with a $2.8 million grant from the United States Department of Commerce in 2020 and has evolved into a transformative project for McNeese. Construction is scheduled to begin in October this year and is expected to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025.

With classes, hands-on training, and mentorship programs the center will give students the opportunity to learn and work in the LNG industry.

The building will be a 24,000-square-foot complex on Sale Road near Ryan St. on the McNeese Campus.

Is this a joke?
If not….very reactive.
LSU needs a Social Justice Center of Excellence.

I am having trouble figuring out exactly what the function of this place will be. Is it like a trade school for those who want to work in the LNG industry?

I lost a lot of money investing in a Lake Charles nat gas exporting operation. Trump’s lack of an energy plan set the whole region back four years.

There is a Southwest Louisiana Economic Intel Podcast. I'm hoping they will interview folks from the LNG side of industry.

Sorry but Mcneese is one of many universities in Louisiana that needs to be merged or adjusted.

Way too many four year schools in a state of Louisiana’s size. Why would a state like Louisiana need 28 four year colleges?
