Sports info director Michael Bonnette said on the Hey Fightin Podcast today that Campbell clocked nearly 19mph this week. He was told that the speed and strength analytics for this team are off the charts.

We were the best conditioned team in the conference last season and it looks like we are now even better.

This much hype is not good for me and I'm losing a lot of work productivity.

That's incredible for a big offensive lineman to do that. He's always been one of the best.

That's a quality time.

Fast wide receivers and cornerbacks can hit about 21.5 mph and run the 40 in about 4.35. If you extrapolate from that, 19 mph is roughly equivalent to a 4.9 in the 40 yard dash. The average for offensive linemen in the NFL is around a 5.3.

Having big guys who are explosive and in cardiovascular shape absolutely wears down opponents.

Yep, and the OP’s post clearly shows that Campbell CANNOT do that.

Maybe... Maybe not... There have been a handful of offensive linemen that have run sub 4.9 times at the NFL combine. It is not impossible.

I don’t recall if it was here or more the media but I remember Moffitt not being retained got a ton of pushback. Moffitt was great but looks like Kelly replaced him with the right guy.

Amazing what happens when there is accountability from the top down. I'd say that's probably the biggest difference.

I get flashbacks of Alan Faneca leading the way downfield on Herb Tyler's 50-yard QB keeper TD run early in the 1997 Florida game :)

Someone post the video of Emery Jones making the open field tackle. He and Campbell future first round draft picks.

Hot take - He would’ve ran just as fast if Moffitt was the SC

I was literally just come in the post that.

I think that was my first time I really understood what elite level athlete Any collegiate level football player was

You have a very quick quarterback, and suddenly this 300 pound man blows by him and level some poor cornerback 30 yards down field.

Either has a good start or good closing speed. I imagine his closing speed is much better than his start.

Why do we keep seeing these posts about how many miles per hour a player can run. Why not something people can relate to and is relevant like 40-yard times or 100 m times or 200 M times or any sort of track time. Why all of a sudden these stupid mile per hour times?

Maybe. But he’s also wear down a lot faster. Team was out of shape his last couple years
