I've had some tragedy recently and require 2 caskets. These look good and apparently funeral homes have to accept them. Anyone in LA ever faced with this? You can order direct or through Amazon.

Btw it's fine. Go ahead with the jokes. I have a thick skin and have already grieved.

Typically need them for more than just an overnight.

Kidding. Tough situation

How long does a casket have to look good for? A few hours? After the wake you're going to plant it and nobody will ever see it again. It could turn to dust in 2 days and no one would know the difference.

Not sure why you’d come here with this, seems like you’ve answered your question?

I mean in all honesty, who cares, it's not like the person in them is going to notice. When my brother died, we paid out the arse for a casket, funeral homes really do take advantage of you. Get whatever you can afford.

Have to? A funeral home is a private business.

Why have we buried millions of metal boxes underground? Let the body return to the earth.

Our family has bought several simple wooden caskets from St. Joseph’s Abbey. Support the monks. Don’t pay the thieving funeral home business.

St. Joseph's Abbey in Covington can get the job done.

Friend,

Our condolences for your loss. I have no experience with the website you posted, but the poplar veneer at $999 looks like the best casket and the best deal. LINK / We already have ours ordered from St Jospeh’s Abbey, but I suppose this would be an economical alternative.

Yours,

I'm getting cremated. I don't want my family wasting tens of thousands on a casket and funeral.

That's horrible, man. Would never make jokes at your expense over a topic like this. Hope you're okay.

If you're over a certain age you should plan out your own final arrangements, put aside the money out of your own pocket in a joint account and leave specific instructions. I know it is morbid but it is better than leaving that task and expense to your bereaved loved ones.

There's peace of mind and absolution in knowing this is the cemetery plot where daddy wanted to be buried, this is the headstone he wanted, this is the funeral home where he wanted a small service held, etc...

I bought my dad's from them about a year ago. No issues, same quality at funeral home.
