which loss would you like to have back
For me it’s 2018 A&M 7 OT game
That game was historic and was a wild fun ball game
Honorable mentions
2007:Kentucky
2007:Arkansas
2009:Penn State
2012:Clemson
2014:Notre Dame

1/9/2012 is the only real answer.

2012 NC Game, obviously

Does the game have to have been close? You gotta go with the 2011-2012 Natty. We would have another title.

Besides 1/9,
2012 Bama
2005 Tennessee
2006 Auburn
2010 Arkansas and 2016 Florida cost us Sugar Bowl appearances
2013 Georgia

I’m absolutely convinced we go on to win the Natty in 2012 if we held on and won this one.

As bad as that game was, it wasn't what I'd call heartbreaking because we were never really in it. My vote would go to the 2012 Bama game in Tiger Stadium. The energy was insane and we had the game won...until the last two minutes.

How was that heartbreaking???
We were completely OWNED

I agree the answer is Bama 2012. Not that the game would have made a difference but we were 1 retarded Max Johnson play away from being 3-1 vs Bama in the last 4 years so maybe 2021 Bama as well just for the laughs.

2014 is close for me. Was at both, and almost threw up both games. Man what a different arc things take if les wins those 2 off saban. For lsu, miles, and saban.

This.
A win that night avenges the 2011 NC loss. It makes it 3 (regular season) wins in a row vs. Alabama. Most importantly, it puts LSU at the top of the West and on track to return to the BCS NC game.

That was really just the inevitable conclusion. The thing that will ALWAYS make me angry about that game is Les losing all the "guts" he had in the years prior. Mettenberger was at his absolute best as an LSU Tiger in the second half of that game. Alabama's defense was helpless to stop him, even though they were beating the hell out of him.
LSU is in Alabama territory late in the game with the lead. Alabama has just used their final TO. A 1st down ends the game. Yet in those final 3 plays Les goes into a shell and runs Hill right into the teeth of the Alabama defense...content to settle for a 40+ yard FG that EVEN IF GOOD still leaves at a one score game.
The game, the season, the championship, the chance to wrestle back control of the West was ALL there with a QB and WR who were absolutely on fire...and Les coward. He played scared rather than taking the opportunity to win that was right in front of him.
