frick that, its not extreme. If you don't want to risk getting suspended then don't vape at school.

If they don't want to follow the rules then they know their punishment if they want to take a chance.

Vapes aren’t tobacco.

The nicotine in vapes that contain it still originates from tobacco.

So then get them from a legit store instead of illegally. Just like anything else.

Oh and they MUST be vaping THC. Lol.

We are talking about 15-18 year olds, so most of them cannot legally buy them anywhere.

Why is this not something they can handle on an individual basis?

Because past evidence shows that the white kids will get away with it while minorities are suspended.

Fentanyl is making its way into the synthetic Mary Jane vape cartridges

That sounds like hysteria to me. Not saying it's impossible, but it reminds me of the tall tales I heard from police and military types while growing up during the heyday of Just Say No.

Why is that even something schools should concern themselves with?

Because it's Texas not Louisiana. Texas actually has excellent public school systems. I know that's hard to understand in Louisiana. They actually care there. They care about the child's education and health. It's mind boggling for someone in Louisiana.

Pretty much sums up where education is today . Until schools, school districts and school boards take a stand , nothing will change

Think about what you just said.

I know what I said. The vapor is still triggering some of the newer sensitive smoke detectors. It’s happening and it’s wasting everyone’s time when it does.

quote:

All smoke alarms are sensitive to small, airborne particles. Ionization smoke alarms trigger when particles disrupt the electricity traveling between two charged plates. Optical smoke alarms go off when particles scatter a beam of infrared light onto a light detector. In this way, vapor and smoke have a similar effect on fire alarms. It’s the reason why smoke detectors shouldn’t be installed in bathrooms where steam from a hot shower could cause a false alarm.

Playing the preemptive victim, I see. It's like Minority Report for unaccountable assholes who see racism everywhere. Waaahh, white people! fricking crytit.

House Bill 114, passed in the Texas regular session and it requires schools to put students in DAEP if they sell, give, have, or use a vape within 300 feet of any school property on or off. DAEP has been described as a step above detention and a step below suspension.

Edit:
quote:

Texas school districts are required to operate Disciplinary Alternative Education Programs (DAEP) to provide continued education for students removed from the regular education setting for behavior-related issues.
…The goal is for students to return to, remain, and succeed in, their regularly assigned classrooms. Successful transition of students from DAEPs to the regular classroom is crucial to the students’ academic success
