Deer Fight
This is a double post from the O-T, but this altercation occurred over a deer. I dont know who was in the wrong or who was in the wright. This is how disputes used to be settled and I hope the law was not involved. Seems like these baws figured it out.

The woman squalling in the background is the smartest one of the bunch, but it's funny at the end that she is worried he is destroying her yard. I guess she won't be on the garden tour this year after all.

Ole Boy with the shovel originally had a hand gun in his hand. He went and put it down for the shovel.

Makes you wonder if you go to someone's house to start crap, how many time to you need to get hit in the head to finally leave?

I was pretty amazed at the amount OT'ers saying the 2x4 wielder was in the wrong. From my point of view, man shows up at someone elses house and is talking shite. Then takes a step toward the old man before he gets wacked. Getting lit up side the head with the board was the least those guys could've done to him. If I'm them, I'm not sure I'm letting him get back into his truck without the cops there. I'd be pointing a gun at him telling to sit down and wait for the cops or he's going to get shot. I guarantee a cop is going to unload on someone who is acting like that and then tries to get back in a vehicle for god knows what.
Of course that is what I'd do as an armchair quarterback. Who knows in a real life high adrenaline situation.
I'd bet money the dude had been drinking too. Just seems like he was acting like someone who had a little too much liquid courage.

EF's Previous Post:
11 Years as a State Game Warden, and a
CJ degree, i’ll throw my opinion in .
I do not know the whole story. I do not know if the subject that was struck, was the aggressor. It is a tiny video. I could not see what , if anything , the subject who was struck had in his hands.
Both the 2 x4 yielding man, and the shovel yielding man, would absolutely be arrested for Aggravated Battery.
If i was the subject in the white shirt, or his friend in the passenger side of cab, i would have shot dead the subject who used the 2 x 4, then the shovel yielding subject. Unless, as i said, i cannot see what the subject had in his hands , in the video. But if i was the subject in the white shirt, empty handed, and was hit with the 2 x 4, i would have killed him dead.
If the white shirt victim went there to the others house and started sheet, he is the aggressor. Technically , aggressors cannot claim self defense. But, if the use of deadly force was also not in line ( 2 x4, shovel ) then the visitor could immediately kill both if he had a hidden weapon.
Totality of circumstances would apply.
I doubt that video supplies all. Whats the feud over ? Any previous threats? What did white shirt go there for there?

Yep. They rig up Irish Spring bars in the trees, turn to squirrel hunting, etc

The way I see it, I think the guy in white came to confront them about something they did. Not enough info to determine who is in the right on whatever occurred.
1. Never go on someone’s property to start an altercation regardless if you’re justified in your anger
2. Old man with 2x4 appeared to only want to keep him at bay and make him leave. He swung when the guy stepped too close. Reasonable action
3. Skinny guy was egging it on and trying to escalate things and just being a redneck. Shovel was unnecessary imo after the guy was already bleeding pretty bad and not much of a threat. I’d argue it was excessive and assault at that point
4. Guy destroyed property intentionally when leaving, which is a crime regardless of if his anger is justified or not

I don’t get it either. Altercations can be prevented simply by respecting your neighbors property lines and both sides understanding deer are free to roam and you don’t own them.
1. Never shoot across property lines
2. If you shoot on your property and deer crosses property lines, give the owner a courtesy call explaining what happened and ask permission to enter his property to retrieve your deer. Also, as the owner of property understand the deer belongs to the hunter and it’s not yours because it fell dead on your side of the line. Grant permission for Hunter to retrieve his deer
3. Do your best not to harm the owners property by rutting up the land with your ATV
4. Just because you’ve been hunting a deer on your game camera doesn’t mean it’s your deer. If someone else sees the deer on their spot or land, they have every right to kill it.

Point a gun at me and tell me to sit down and I’m making you shoot me. Everybody thinks they’re ready to shoot somebody until it’s time to do it

You're right. I'll wait for you to return to your truck and retrieve a Colt then we can have a shootout O.K. Corral style.
Actually I'm not that sporty, I'll shoot you in the back when you reach inside for your piece.
