I hate it, but it’s the new college football. It’s just a money battle.

And most of these kids come from poverty so a last minute raise of 100-300k means everything.

So Billy has him going to A&M as does Mike Roach. Man all that Texas momentum since June and the Aggies come in and if they take him from them at the end

At this point all you can do is laugh at any kid who chooses A&M, especially Louisiana kids.

They’re god fricking awful, have a lame duck head coach, and haven’t won anything since WWII. That definitely screams football Mecca

I've seen Billy consisntently saying on TOS that this wasn't an NIL recruitment but A&M swooping in late and getting him from what alot of people thought would be Texas certainly has all the familiar symptoms of an NIL recruitment lol

I think what concerns me is what if Jimbo does get fired and they get the right guy? I have faith Jimbo will frick it up at this point but what if the next guy is the right hire and they continue getting top louisiana kids. That worries me a bit.

Need Jimbo to avg 8-4 / 9-3 with one upset a year in SEC play to keep him there

Even though I want them to lose every game

I feel the same way about Jimbo that Bama fans felt about Les. It's why Nick was so mad when LSU canned Les. Please keep that underacheiving bastard forever lol.

I still don’t see their program ascending to anything more than 2nd/3rd in the west tops. That place doesn’t sustain enough success and never will.

The real threat in Texas is in Austin, not college station. A&M will never attract a top head coach due. Texas might

Texas to me feels like a family of trust fund babies that all want their way. That’s why they have chewed up talented coaches and spit them out. There are so many chefs in the kitchen that I think they’ll consistently have trouble finding the right guy. The right guy, whoever that may be, will have to be equal parts elite coach and politician just to deal with all the BS that comes with UT head coach.

The right guy doesn’t exist. Bear Bryant couldn’t win there, Mike Sherman won with the packers and couldn’t win there, John Chavis was considered by everyone an elite DC at LSU and Tennessee and they killed his career. Hell, even Jimbo was a really good coach before coming there. It’s them and their weird culture that kills any chance at becoming an elite program. All the money in the world isn’t changing that.

On top of all that he has little to no hope of playing early on that A&M dline with how much talent they stacked up there, so this definitely reeks of a big payday for McKinley to me.

Also almost no kids admit they're being bought, simply put. So many recruitments we hear where NIL is a small factor or 3rd or 4th down the totem pole yet ita pretty clear it's become a major factor for McKinley just like it was for Simmons too when that also wasn't supposed to be an NIL recruitment yet you hear of big offers being swung his way by Texas so he wouldn't choose LSU after the Splash and seeing if we can match, etc.

I will admit it does make me feel better that their last claimed natty was pre WWII. Maybe old Aggie is just cursed lol.

shite this recruitment is crazy. Texas mods just posted that its now between A&M and OU and that OU has come on very strong in the last 24 hours.

Why the F would he go to OU over UT and A&M if its about academics and location?

No clue about this account but it has 50k followers and OU folks are starting to feel really confident it is between them and A&M with OU making the late push.

Man, that's a risky move for Dom. OU better look good this year or the heat may get turned up on Venables. Their defense was a disaster last season and that's Venables' forte.

ETA: I just checked the OU scores from last season

41 against K State
55 against TCU
49 in a shut out loss to Texas
42 to Kansas
38 to Baylor
51 against Tx Tech.
35 to FSU

They averaged 30 points against per game given up.
