The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) – a large system of ocean currents that carry warm water from the tropics into the North Atlantic – could collapse by the middle of the century, or possibly any time from 2025 onward, because of human-caused climate change, a study published Tuesday suggests.

quote:

Such a collapse could trigger rapid weather and climate changes in the U.S., Europe and elsewhere. If it were to happen, it could bring about an Ice age in Europe and sea-level rise in cities such as Boston and New York, as well as more potent storms and hurricanes along the East Coast.

Y’all did it now. Looks like we have gone from super heat domes to an ice age.

The media are a bunch of stupid fricks.

How much more in taxes do I need to pay in order to get this to stop?

They’ve narrowed the scope of possibilities. It’s all in Peej’s hands now.

Just go throw your coins in the ocean and make a wish.

I thought rising sea levels were being caused because global warming was melting the polar ice caps? So wouldn’t an ice age cause sea levels to drop?

Would this stop hurricanes from entering the gulf? If so, how do we speed it up?

If you add ice to your drink, does it go up? Or down?

If you freeze the liquid already in your drink what happens?

It would trigger the collapse of the oceanic conveyor system and it would be a world wide ice age

The only answer is "We have to do something!". Usually it involves taxes and restrictions.
