We bought a basic two light system back in 2013 from underwaterfishlight.com, it produces well but we've had to replace the bulbs on it a two or three times over the years due to people cracking them or fraying the wires ($170/ea). A few of our neighbors have the same system and the technical support from that company is awesome.

But there's one house that has an "ultra" system and it looks like something Joe Rogan would have shining on his studio. If price isn't an issue, and you don't mind all the attention and fishing pressure, I'd go with the ultra with how much better it produces.
They too have have had constant issues with broken bulbs and wire issues and the thing hardly ever had all 3 of their original lights working all at once.

This is the house's light box

I have 3 IllumiSea underwater green lights around my pier(freshwater). They had good reviews and we have been pleased with them thus far. I went with the LED lights rather than the 110Volt lights because we swim around our pier and wanted to diminish any potential electrical shock situation. I also purchased timers that were easy to install and set.

Get an elevated halogen and shine it straight down on the water. You'll catch more fish.

But the bugs will be brutal. We have a deep glow in BSL and it is pretty legit. Going to add a second one now.

Not meaning to hijack, but was wondering has anyone use a bug zapper with success to attract fish?

bug zapper

My dad put one up on the boathouse when I was little. It was fun to watch bream and catfish hitting the dead bugs on top of the water, but I don't think it ever did anything as far as attracking bass/stripers tho.
Like the other guy said, if you want something simple to attract fish a simple higher output halogen bulb a few feet off the surface produces well if underwater ones aren't an option.

I don't "fish" dock lights but I drop a good size green light from my boat then wait 5 minutes and start throwing a cast net for shad. Especially in the summer when they are 20-30 feet deep. I just caught enough shad this morning for fishing today. Pretty easy.

Ha! Come on, let me know how the fishing is! We love the deep glow. Our pier has bright as hell overhead lights, but we don’t even turn them on most of the time because of bugs.

I fish all of them I can find LOL.

I also use the small ones to catch bait. I usually start an hour or so before sunrise and just motor 100 yards away from the ramp, drop 2 lights and wait. In 20 minutes they will be swarming with shad and herring. Usually get enough bait with one pancake...trouble is most of my tosses look more like a taco LOL.

Yep. Here during this part of the year, you've got to catch them about 4:30 am. We don't have skipjack here, just threadfin and gizzard.

Agreed. Underwater lights are for watching fish. Above water lights are for catching.

Fish are alot more spooky with the underwater lights and can be more maintenance with the bulbs and wires, although they do look cool.

Had two submerged green lights off the dock for crappie. Also put a halogen work light off of a dark area of the dock. I have caught way more fish at night off of the halogen work light than i have the green lights. Only problem is getting murdered by bugs.
