I am happy to announce the top four winning garlic dishes in our 41st challenge!

LouisianaLady - Roasted Tomato/Garlic, Sweet Corn, and Brie Empanadas (with roasted garlic-lavender cream sauce)

SkintBack - Smoked Short Rib Cheesesteaks with Garlic Confit Spread

MeridianDog - Garlic Shrimp Freddy with Roasted Garlic Alfredo Sauce and Garlic Parmesan Bread

Jax-Tiger - Petite Filet with Smoked Garlic and Bone Marrow Butter and Garlic Hasselback Potatoes

If you haven’t looked at all of the pictures and explanations in the submissions thread, check them out here: Garlic SUBMISSIONS Thread

Congrats to the winners, placers, show-ers, noobs, and thanks to the voters, lurkers, and wannabes!

Can y’all believe we have completed FORTY-ONE challenges? I regret that we haven’t done post-game threads discussing the challenges, the thought processes, screw-ups, saves, regrets, things you would change, all the gory details that are left out of the submission threads. And find out if anybody makes any of their dishes again, or if voters have made any. Oh well.

LouisianaLady, what is our next challenge ingredient??

Woohoo. Skint, hell of a solid first participation.

I made this list a while back since we’ve done so many categories now that’s it’s hard to recall what hasn’t been done.

I’m kinda leaning either - rice since it surprisingly hasn’t been done, or farmers market/what’s in season for the slower summertime vibe.

Quite a list!

I think artichokes are the only thing on your list that’s been done.

I love seasonal items. Anything with a summer feel would be great.

The next challenge should be around the start of football season. I like the game day food idea.

Another idea: we've done generic main ingredients, like sausage, specific main ingredients, like chicken thighs, dishes, like soup and sandwich, and secondary ingredients, like garlic. We haven't done food types, such as "Italian" or "Cajun". Who's to say we can't do that?

I agree. Picking a food culture would be pretty cool. I’ve been wanting to “cook the world” (a different country in alphabetical order) for a long time, actually.

Ok - As much as I like the rice and the seasonal idea, I think Gameday Party Food is fun and can give us all some ideas for what will be the start of football season. So Gameday Party it is!

I’m so glad it’s not rice! I might’ve had to sit one out.

I love the Gameday Party Food idea. Looks like Aug 22 will be the challenge date. I might wait till morning to make the announcement post. Unless I don’t.

ETA: I also like the idea of doing categories like Thai, Italian, French, Tex-Mex, Cajun, Greek, Lebanese, or other variations.

Perfect. We are hosting a football watch party for the alumni association here so I can use all of your recipes.

I LOVE peaches this time of year. On the weekends I throw them in a cooler when I'm out and about. I cherish pulling out those ice cold peaches to cool off.

On another note, I did some pork chops with a peach spread that I sous vides. Delish.

Love them too. Last summer I went to The Chloe and they had a grilled peach panzanella salad. It was so good I recreated it the best I could when I got hom.

The bottom of a shallow bowl is smeared with whipped goat cheese, then arugula/spring mix tossed with homemade green goddess dressing, then toasted crusty bread soaked a bit in the green goddess as well, and grilled fresh peaches on top (still warm). So good.
