How’s his plant’s status as of today?

I used to defend toxic tort litigation in Baton Rouge. Gordon McKernan was usually on the other side.

The defense heavy hitters(if it becomes a contested deal) will be from the Houston area. Not sure if it matters to your point though.

Is you work for the plant, you may have to go through workers comp, depending on the circumstances.

My throat is a little sore today.

Been working in the plants 10+ years and feel like I'm due for some bad shite to happen. In case something does happen, who would be the ideal guy around here to just keep on tab? Who's the big heavy hitter?
People like you need to find employment elsewhere. Life in the plants is not for the timid. You are the one who will get someone else hurt or killed…

Fruge and Marrioneaux will be all over that. Have no fear. And I mean this in a good way. People should avoid tv lawyers

Talbot Carmouche and Marcello

Probably Arnold & Itkin if you don’t go with a local attorney, although I’m pretty sure they do have a satellite office in BR.

Out of state lawyers from Houston/Dallas or other places come in and rep clients in south LA all the time. Many are barred here. Or get a notable out of state firm and have them use whoever their local counsel is here.
The real heavy hitter lawyers don't advertise on tv or billboards, just fyi.

I just wouldn't trust a local attorney. Sorry.

You wouldn’t want an injury lawyer from a billboard, all they do is sue insurance companies and threaten them to make deals.
You want some type of corporate lawyer. Some big dog with 6 names in the law firm who digs through safety records, training, employee info, supervisor and manager info, company history, etc.
That being said, unless something was completely fricked that shouldn’t have.m been (like the Deepwater Horizon), you work in a chemical plant where this can happen.

Are you implying that getting injured is just part of the deal with working at one of these places?

Ed walters or Paul Duhe

As is the one who started this post. Hasn’t even been 24 hours since it happened and they are wondering who will get them the most money

The trouble with most of the big advertising lawyers is that their firms aren’t as flush as Joe public thinks. They may bring in 150 million but they may pay 100 million in advertising expenses along and single partner firms typically take all the profits out each year. They don’t like complicated expenses cases that take years to resolve. The solution, they refer them out to the boutique firms that specialize in these types of cases, which then dilutes the fee for them and reduces the economic incentive to the real trial firm to pursue the case. BTW when you see all these huge verdicts for these adverting firms they get to claim them too along with the actual lawyer that got the verdict as part of the referral deal.
So be smart and find and hire the actual lawyer that’s going to work on your case.
It’s not me, I am done with plant explosion cases and I am planning to retire in the next 5 to 10 years. BTW, if you think that no poisonous fumes or gases were released I have some beach front property in Shreveport to sell you at a good price.
When you battle big chemical or oil companies, you are battling the federal government, local government, regulatory agencies etc. They all suck their dicks at will and swallow hard
