Are ATV / UTV dealers the same with pricing ?

Looking to buy a Honda utv and didn’t know if any dealer works with you more than the other in pricing. Or do they go by the factory msrp?
Is out of state such as Miss better ?

No they aren’t.
Every dealer is different. Some require add on accessories. Just have to check with them.

I think you can search up some older threads and find the names of the ones in MS that have better deals than LA.

Brookhaven has been great for a few years with pricing. Covid changed the market so not as many deals to be had. I’d still call them and see what they can do for you.

Availability is still a problem. This doesn’t help with negotiations when people are on a wait list.

I used to be a rep in this business. You should be careful driving a hew hours away to buy from a "low baller" dealer and then take it to the local guy when it needs service.
Some dealers will take their sweet time getting to one from those guys.
On another note, margins on these things aren't what people think they are. When I was in the business they only made 4-8% on them. Most dealers would depend on accessorizing and extended warranties to make any decent margins.

Bought mine from dealer nearest my camp (Thomasville AL). Mainly because that’s the easiest place to take it if I need work done. Also the lady that runs it is a small town smoke show.

Look out of state to avoid the taxes.
Do not register it in your state to avoid the BS tax/fees.
The aggressively priced dealers have a big online presence to attract the out of state buyers.

Louisiana and mississippi both report to each other.
And most of these guya arent paying cash for a 15k side by side. Much less a 30k one.

When I was in the business, I took a larger floor plan to get the bigger discounts.
Mowers low end lawn tractors bought in truck load quantity and sold them with accessories.
UTV’s, I would buy lower end ones in large quantities to bring customers in the door and sell accessories.
Then I would mix my floor plans with hot sellers and high end units.
Depends on how they buy or floor plan.
Is that unit coming up where the dealer has to pay interest on it?
Don’t make money on the unit.
You make it on the financing, extended service plans, and accessories.
I kept my base units in the shed outside. In the showroom I had all my units tricked out. Lawnmowers, UTV’s, and generators I always sold everything I could with them. No one complained and people bought the stuff anyway.
90% customers bought units with the accessories.
10% came in for a basic unit.
Really wanted the sales to steer customers to your more profitable parts and service dept.

Drove to friggin northern Arky from south La for recent Pioneer 1000 purchase.
1.) Because they actually had one; and,
2.) Because they weren't charging all the BS freight/destination/assembly charges most everyone else is these days.
I hear supply may be a tad better, depending on brand (Honda still pretty scarce, but you can find Can Am, for example). Drove me nuts to call a place about a machine that was advertising the base price online only to find out they'd gone ahead and tricked it out to 1000000 to say "that's how this one comes." No it doesn't, you added all of that, I don't want most of it, would rather add items of my own choosing.

I bought one at Friendly Honda Yamaha Polaris recently. They had plenty of stock and took $1000 off msrp. Not sure if that’s good or bad but it felt they caressed me gently as they violated me.

I was in the 700-800 cc market last fall. All the Honda reps told me that Honda wasn't making many 520-700's because they made more $$$ on the 1000's.

Passed by there last Saturday and saw they had quit a few 1000 Pioneer's. Didn't see any 700's or smaller.

Checkout the Kawi Mule FX. I have a 2021 EPS. I had a 2019 Ranger 1000. Love the Mule and glad I switched. RT Powersports in Brookhaven will sell you one at a good price and the only fee they change is a $50 fee that goes to the state for riders education.

The 500s and 520s are slower...but a much better bike to hunt off of.
Until one of mine got totaled they were THE bike of choice. Narrow and poor suspension are just too dangerous for less experienced riders. One bad set of of ruts and one roll...and the wife insisted on getting rid of both of em.
Heaven forbid I point out that her family member who wrecked has the IQ of a squirrel.

We bought a Honda 1000 a few weeks ago. Availability wasnt an issue other than no one had a base model - they all has multiple Trail models in stock. Difference between dealers was about $3k highest to lowest.
