I didn't say that you did.

I provided a link that supported my statement.

And yet it didn't. It also wasn't substantiated in the podcast.

you being like "oh, well you said segregation, not SCHOOL segregation" isnt the gotcha you think it is, and in fact, its a microcosm of the topic at hand and my comments on it and reinforces my statement.

Nope.

I grew up in New York. I've been around Yankees my entire life. The number of times they have slandered Southerners as ignorant and racist is significant. Also significant is how often they demonstrate their own racism. It's not paranoia, it has basis in fact and experience

I mean northerners still think they should have burnt the south down to the ground and are pissed Sherman didnt. They do think we are all uneducated and are racist yet they dont live near black people.

It's been over a decade since I've been, but New Haven wasn't great either which was a little surprising to me

Also, the traffic in Connecticut is as bad as anywhere in the country. Makes Baton Rouge at rush hour look like the autobahn. The Interstates are parking lots 24/7/365.

I have never talked to a single person in my 10 years in the north say they think that.

Heard plenty of people (mostly here) from the south say they should try to secede again though.

I've not heard that as a sentiment. But the idea that the south is some sort of racist wasteland full of ignorant hicks is pretty common.

Are you intentionally being obtuse?

Your dap dancing is tiresome. You have nothing to support your statement that "NYC is the most segregated city in the America". Nothing. Moreover, if you had ever ventured out of your backwoods hovel and visited up here, you would know that this isn't the case.

Now, before you misconstrue what I have just said (and I can't believe that I have to do this, but you have problems understanding what someone is saying in a podcast, so I'm going to do it anyway), I'm not saying that there isn't racism or discrimination, etc. in the North.

i literally just referenced how its the most segregated school system in America...hell, you linked an article yourself stating that it was highly segregated. how is that not evidence to support it?

Sure you can. People post it on the OT regularly.

OK, you're intentionally being obtuse. Got it.

Something that doesn't say that it's the most segregated is evidence to say that it's the most segregated. Ummm, OK. Maybe you're not being intentionally obtuse. Maybe you're an idiot.

I've made assumptions based on your inabilities to understand what you've heard and read.

now you are deflecting.

Let's do baby step this thing.

Show me something that says that NYC is the most segregated place in America. That was your claim. Show me. Not that it's "highly segregated", which isn't what you claimed. Not an unsubstantiated claim on a podcast, which claims that its school system is the most segregated, which isn't what you claimed.

done:

Cities considered the most segregated include New York — which ranks No. 1 — as well as Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, among others.

Known for its diversity, New York City is 32 percent white, 29 percent Latino, 24 percent Black, and 14 percent Asian with hundreds of ethnicities represented among its residents. New York City is also the most segregated metro region in the US.

From UC Berkeley:
quote:

New York City tops a lot of lists: it is the most populous city in the United States, the most linguistically diverse city in the world, and home to the most billionaires. Known for its diversity, New York City is 32 percent white, 29 percent Latino, 24 percent Black, and 14 percent Asian with hundreds of ethnicities represented among its residents. New York City is also the most segregated metro region in the US.

From the same article:
quote:

Today, New York City’s public school system is considered to be the most segregated in the nation, with many charter and magnet schools as the worst offenders. And while residential segregation is not the sole cause of school segregation, it remains the case that residential segregation is a substantial contributor to school segregation.
