Willie Green isn’t taking him to an nba finals game with Brandon, just to trade him for Jarrett Allen who just got raped by Mitchell Robinson in a playoff series, even w the help of Mobley.

If we getting rid of JV, it better be for Poeltl. He’s younger and better at defense, but a downgrade on offense which is what we probably need.

Griffin also isn't gonna give up his diamond in the rough.. that's a very big told-ya-so for him

Man some of you are seriously down on Dyson. I think he takes a Trey like leap this year.

We’ll see during summer league. We saw Trey look like the best player
In SL last season. Idk if dyson can get to that level but I hope so

Well that’s certainly something you think.

Do you remember who drafted Lonzo? Perhaps the greatest point guard to ever play. One who was so big he started at center in the nba finals when Kareem went out.

Dude showed a legit ability to have an elite aspect to his game at 19, and posters are saying we wasted a pick.

didn't Dyson take over 1 or 2 SL 4th quarters last year?

I’m high on Dyson, but I didn’t see anything to end last season that would indicate that kind of jump. Trey was huge for the play-in/playoffs his rookie season.

I also doubt he ever gets close to Trey’s level of shooting. I could be him getting to 37/38 from deep for a season or two, but We knew Trey could shoot the lights out pretty much immediately

Trey had an amazing SL team. That was a fun year. Last year's summerleague team was so arse.

Hopefully we see Dyson, EJ, Hawkins, Matkovic, and the undrafted guys put on some exciting performances this year. The potential roster already looks a hell of a lot better than last year's team.

We can probably trade for JA for relatively little since JV at 15 mil and expiring is really good value and JA had a bad playoff series. Problem is I down Cleveland wants JV even though he had a great year. Gonna probably have to involve a third team to make it work realistically

3 team trade

Wiz, Cavs, Pels

Wiz get Jonas, salary filler
Cavs get Gafford, salary filler
Pels get Jarrett Allen

Mix some 2nd rd picks in if necessary

Cavs are getting a quality big for JA, at about 8-10 mil less per year than JA. Now they can run Mobley at the 5 and use the extra money to get better fitting pieces. They can still run the multi big lineups occasionally if they want as well. Just at a lower price.

They can get the 2nds back in the deal if necessary or some very protected 1st’s that will convey to 2nd’s

Trey was the best player on the floor during his rookie season Summer League.. then we hit regular season, he had a couple cold games, and suddenly got lost in his head and had no confidence. Willie wouldn't give him minutes until much later in the season

Dyson looked good early, then the Laker free throw implosion, plus an injury, and he suddenly lost all confidence. Difference was that Willie never really came back to him later in the year.

The main difference between Trey and Dyson is Trey has an elite offensive skill (shooting) and elite vertical athleticism.

Dyson is pretty middling offensively and athletically. He doesn’t really have a go to skill or move on offense or the athletic ability to make up for the lack of skills. So we are going to have to hope he improves his 3 ball, court vision, dribbling, and the ability to use his body. Giddey is a good example of what Dyson should be trying to do offensively. Giddey plays w a lot of confidence and uses his body very well.

Dyson plays shy out on the court especially when sharing it w guys like Ingram, Zion, Trey, Jonas, CJ. He knows he is not nearly as good as any of them offensively. It’s similar to when Kira is on the court. Dyson and Kira’s biggest weakness is playing passive and not giving themselves the green light to play free and learn through some mistakes.
