Only the '93 (53–17–1) and '09 (56–17) teams won it all - SECW, SEC, SECt, and the natty.

We were 54–17 this year.

Was this the best LSU baseball team of all time?

"Best" demands criteria. IDK if they were our best ever. What can be said is we faced the toughest challenge of any in Omaha and got it done

And props to '17. They faced some challenges in Omaha as well. Fell short but it's hard to overcome losing a starting pitcher like what happened with Walker.

Pitching staff just wasn’t good enough in the long haul to be considered the best lsu team of all time.

Or the defense, but that’s what made this natty so special. LSU put it all together to beat great teams (more than once) down the stretch.

First SEC HR of the '23 season.

Jared Jones 3-Run Blast vs A&M in G2

Bonus coverage: Dugas HBP. No '23 highlight will be very far from a Dugas HBP.

First HR of the '23 season:

Dugas HR vs Western Michigan in G2

'Twas a beautiful day for baseball at the Box and Lynn Rollins on the call. Enjoy.

The 1998 team did not win a NTty but could’ve been the best ever. I know people are all giddy about the talent, but ‘09 might be as talented. DJ LeMehieu may end up being a HOF MLB player as he has won batting titles in both leagues and is a career .300 hitter. Will likely end up with nearly 2700 or so hits plus all the golden gloves.
Then there’s those pitchers that made it to the show like Coleman and Ranaudo as well as players like Schimpf, Mahtook and Austin Nola.
The team was super talented.

I'm still on my '23 natty high. No thoughts of 'coming down' except for brief potty breaks.

But being as objective as one can be, our '09 was probably the best - combination of accomplishment and talent.

If you had to pick a staring nine from among the '09 and '23 teams, who starts?

No batting order.

P - Skenes
C - Gibbs
1B - Morgan
2B - LeMahieu
SS - Nola
3B - White
LF - Mahtook
CF - Crews
RF - Mitchell
DH - Dean

ETA: Toughest choice was between Ochinko and Morgan. Nod to Morgan.

I think Tre is in too. Would swap OF positions with Mitchell and Mikie. Also, need to find a place for Ryan Schimpf.

We're in football season now, so it'll take more effort to keep this on page 1. Here's mine.

We install plaques, raise banners, build statues, what would it hurt to sticky our National Championship threads for the continued enjoyment of the achievement.
