Suzuki Outboards....

Does anyone have experience with the NEW DF250 SS Suzuki outboard? I'm looking to repower my boat and would like to see if anyone has any experience with these motors. Everything I have read looks to be positive.
Also does anyone have any experience with a Suzuki dealer in the South La area?

Can't speak for that particular HP but everyone I know with the 300s loves them

We have a 2019 (I think) 250 on our 26' SeaArk that we gator hunt in. It gets put under heavy loads every weekend of the season, and goes in some shallow water. Been impressed with how well the water pump does in grass and mud.
Been very pleased with it.

The only complaints I have read is with the gear ratio and propping. I think people have figured it out though and you see a bunch of Solas Scorpions in use.

They are designed to turn a big wheel, which is great for everything except going as fast as possible.
When my bank account is ready for a repower I will absolutely be getting a 250 zuke.

Just bought a brand new custom aluminum boat with a 140 Suzuki. Can't complain so far. It is new, though. From the research i did, they seem to be good engines, though.

Duvics marine in Harvey. Just got a new 200 a few months ago. They will let you swap props until you find the correct one.

Have a DF200 as a repower on my 20’ Hydrasport Ocean Skiff and love it. Super quiet and very stingy on fuel. As stated, you won’t win any speed tests, I’m still playing with props to get the right one.

as all the others have said, propping is a process. I found that 4 blade props worked best on my DF175
the only other thing is that you have to monitor the zincs on your engine block. Mine had 8, four on each side. Do no neglect these

The 250 and 300 are both the 4.0L engine

Lot of guides in Florida run Suzuki outboards. It may be a cost thing but they abuse outboards compared to the average boater....makes me think they are highly reliable. Only experience I have with one is a 140 HP jet drive. Was not impressed but jet outboards are a pain in the arse anyway you slice them...it ran fine and was reliable but it was slow and hard to manuever at low speeds.

They will run merc props just fine. Bravo1 is the best I’ve found for my 250ss.

I know of a couple hulls where that seems to be a great fit as well. Especially one anything needing help with bow lift.

I'm thinking about repowering a 250 OX66 with a 250 ZuK. Called a few places and looks like right under $25,000 out the door.

Was on a 32' Contender the other day with twin 250s. Owner said he likes them and makes his living relying on them

In my experience they are not worth shite...
But that is mainly because I cannot afford one so I have never experienced its performance
Hope that was helpful.

Thanks guys. This thread pretty much confirms what I have been reading, plus they are about $4K-$5k cheaper than the merc's and yamaha's.
