This one was a bit too campy/trite/cliche for me. The popped collar, the cocked hat, slowly coming forward into light… [gag]

I would have gone with Once Upon A Time In The West, but I see it’s been mentioned. Much grittier than Tombstone, which always looks like a broadway play or a western costume drama to me.

In the conversation as one of my faves because it’s not cliche but still memorably stylistic is the final scene of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Doc Holliday in Tombstone, of course. The same with Heat. The standoff gunfight at the end of Wind River is excellent.

Just looked over the thread to see if anyone mentioned Sterling Hayden using a harpoon in the final showdown in "Terror in a Texas Town" (1958).

How about the entire movie of the Quick and the Dead. Great movie. Sam Raimi style, great performances by Hackman, Crowe, DiCaprio, and Stone. The premise was great and the execution was great.
